On the afternoon of April 10, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) held a meeting to prepare for the 2024/2025 season. The teams agreed to adjust the V.League schedule. Accordingly, the number 1 tournament of Vietnamese football will start from September 2024 instead of August as originally planned.

In the 2024/2025 season, in addition to the 5 FIFA Days breaks as prescribed, each lasting about 2 weeks, there will be a break for the national team to compete in the AFF Cup (right after the FIFA Days in December). The total time the V.League will temporarily stop for the national team is 116 days. In addition, the V.League will not be affected when the youth teams gather and compete.

13/13 V.League clubs attending the meeting voted to agree to the proposal to postpone the opening of the new season to September. This means that there will be a number of rounds that the clubs will have to compete at a high density to meet the time limit for the end of the season in June 2025. The tournament organizing committee will send a written request for opinions to each team...

" We hope to continue to receive the solidarity, consensus, sharing, and responsible cooperation from the clubs, all together overcoming challenges, starting to implement the best preparation plans for the new season," said VPF General Director - Mr. Nguyen Minh Ngoc.

VPF will also report to the VFF Executive Board, submit the contents according to regulations as well as prepare and arrange the match schedule according to 2 options: Prioritize clubs to limit long-distance travel, long-distance travel and least cost, and the remaining option is random arrangement based on basic criteria.

These match schedule options will be presented at the 2024/2025 season draw and match schedule, based on the consensus of the clubs before implementation.

In addition, the VFF Sports Medicine Department said that it will conduct doping tests in some important matches in the V.League next season. Matches that affect the championship race and relegation will be given attention to minimize cheating. The Sports Medicine Department will randomly take samples of players from both teams participating in the above matches.
