V-League returns on June 15: The do-or-die round, officially determining the relegated team

Nam Dinh FC will successfully defend their championship if they get points at Tam Ky Stadium, but most of the attention will be focused on the relegation battle in round 25 of the V-League.

Two ends of the war

Entering this round 25, Nam Dinh FC will be crowned V-League champions for the second consecutive time if they can get at least 1 point at Tam Ky Stadium. On the contrary, Quang Nam FC will need at least 1 point to ensure their own decision on the relegation ticket, before facing Mr. Duc's HAGL in round 26. All these factors promise to create an exciting match, with the scenario that the ball will mostly roll on the home team's field. If coach Vu Hong Viet and his team complete the target of taking all 3 points, they will not only close the race for the top group but also have a significant impact on the situation of the relegation race.

Outside Tam Ky Stadium, the focus will be on the bottom of the rankings, where the three teams SLNA (23 points, 12th place), Binh Dinh (21 points, 13th place) and Da Nang (21 points, 14th place) will struggle fiercely in the last two decisive rounds. The bottom team Da Nang is full of hope after winning 3 and drawing 3 in the last 7 matches to revive their chances of staying in the league: equaling the score with Binh Dinh Club and only 2 points behind SLNA. Coach Le Duc Tuan and his team are determined to get points on Ha Tinh Stadium to escape the bottom position that has been tied for 17 consecutive rounds. However, Ha Tinh Club and their opponents will not sit still.

SLNA is not in as good a form as Da Nang FC but will meet HAGL who have already been relegated. If HAGL uses many players old enough to participate in the 33rd SEA Games at Vinh Stadium in round 25, SLNA will be able to dream of a home win to consolidate their position above the other two opponents. The team under the most pressure, Binh Dinh FC, will have a trip to Thong Nhat Stadium to play Ho Chi Minh City FC, who are not sure of relegation. Surely the 3 bottom teams will use all their energy to keep their hopes alive.

Protect the matches, protect V-League

In round 25, Da Nang FC was without coach Le Duc Tuan and the duo Huu Dung and Quang Hung were suspended, while SLNA was without Olaha for the same reason. This shows the tense nature of the matches with teams competing for relegation. It is predicted that the heat will increase in the last two decisive matches. VPF and the Organizing Committee of V-League 2024 - 2025 have issued an official dispatch directing the match organizers, clubs, supervisors, and referees to ensure facilities, security, and especially all matches must take place at exactly 5:00 p.m.

Football expert Doan Minh Xuong commented: "In this round 25, everyone is waiting for the matches to take place extremely fiercely and tensely, especially in the bottom group. We are waiting for the dedicated sportsmanship of the teams and especially the referee's management to be truly objective and accurate to produce fair results contributing to the success of the tournament. What fans expect is that winning must be winning, losing must be losing, those who stay in the league and those who are relegated are all worthy. Therefore, VFF, VPF and the V-League Organizing Committee must resolutely protect the sportsmanship of the matches, which is also protecting the image and value of the V-League and the clubs themselves.

The variable in this round is that Ho Chi Minh City Club and Quang Nam will make efforts because they are still in the danger zone, but on the contrary, there are other teams that have already been relegated. I am only afraid of the chain play: team A wins B, B wins C and C wins A... forming a group of teams that pass points to each other. On June 12, VFF met with the Criminal Police Department (C02) of the Ministry of Public Security to affirm their determination to accompany and closely coordinate in preventing and combating crimes and violations of the law in football, contributing to maintaining the purity, healthy and sustainable development of Vietnamese football. Hopefully, these movements will help V-League 2024 - 2025 reach the finish line safely, from this round 25."

Two Japanese referees, Nagamine Koki (34 years old) and Jumpei Iida (43 years old), will officiate the two matches between Hanoi FC and Viettel The Cong and Thanh Hoa FC and Hanoi Police. VAR will not be used in these two matches. The match between Hai Phong FC and Binh Duong will also not be used in VAR but will be officiated by Vietnamese referees.

Round 25 match schedule (taking place at the same time at 5:00 p.m. on June 15): Hanoi Club - The Cong Viettel, Ho Chi Minh City Club - Binh Dinh Club, Ha Tinh Club - Da Nang Club, SLNA - HAGL, Hai Phong Club - Binh Duong Club, Thanh Hoa Club - Hanoi Police Club, Quang Nam Club - Nam Dinh Club.
