(Dan Tri) - Youngest son Barron made an important contribution to Donald Trump's successful re-election campaign by choosing podcasts that appeal to young voters.

Earlier this year, former US President Donald Trump, 78, began trying to attract young male voters by engaging with YouTubers and “brother” podcasters, many of whom are young, extremely popular with Gen Z, and sympathetic to his “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement. Surrounded by middle-aged campaign aides, the former president turned to his youngest son, Barron, 18, for advice. According to a new report from the Times, Trump campaign chairwoman Susie Wiles tasked campaign adviser Alex Bruesewitz with creating a list of shows the then-Republican candidate could appear on. Trump would then make the final decision. However, Barron had the most important voice. Specifically, when the adviser exchanged: “I have a list of podcasts for you to choose from.” Trump responded: "Have you talked to Barron? Call Barron and see what he thinks and get back to me." The aide eventually got the younger Trump son's approval for any appearance on the podcast supporting his father's re-election campaign. "After trying to reach Mr. Trump's youngest son, whom Melania has tried to shield from political influence, Bruesewitz got Barron's approval," the Times reporter said. The initial shift from traditional media to social media took Mr. Trump and much of his campaign through uncharted territory. He relied on his youngest son, Barron, and influential close friend Bo Loudon to help navigate the world of celebrities and online influencers. "They didn't grow up watching television like we did. They watched the internet, their phones, their computers, right?" Trump told young voters in September. During his third White House campaign, Trump has appeared on talk shows with people like YouTuber Logan Paul, comedian Theo Von, podcast host Lex Freidman, political commentator Ben Shapiro, businessman Patrick Bet-David and most recently, the world's most famous podcast host Joe Rogan. He also participated in a 90-minute interview with influencer Kick Adin Ross in August. All based on suggestions from his youngest son, Barron, and his close friend, Bo. Jason Miller, a senior adviser to Trump, said Barron's choices have had a significant impact on his father's campaign. Barron is the youngest child of US President-elect Donald Trump and his wife, Melania. Barron is currently attending New York University's Stern School of Business. Barron, who was old enough to vote for the first time in this year's presidential election, has been a low-profile figure in his father's campaign, but he is credited with helping connect the campaign with young voters - a key factor in Trump's victory.
