The congress was held in the atmosphere of the capital's youth towards the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union of Hanoi for the 2024-2029 term, celebrating the 30th anniversary of launching the blood donation movement in Vietnam and the establishment of the Hanoi Youth Blood Donation Association.

During the 2019-2024 term, the Hanoi Blood Association coordinated to organize 2,315 blood donation points and mobilized 310,130 units of blood to serve patients.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh - Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion spoke at the Congress.

The Association has participated in 6 blood shortage calls, actively calling on people with blood types O and A to donate blood, and is a pioneer in joining hands to overcome the blood shortage at all times. Officers, members, and volunteers are ready to donate blood when called upon.

Over the past 5 years, the Association has coordinated with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to maintain 27 major blood donation events. For example, the Red Spring Festival (received 45,320 units of blood), Red Drops of Gratitude (received 18,177 units of blood), Volunteer Heart (received 15,683 units of blood), and Compassionate Summer (received 10,183 units of blood)...

Chairman of the Hanoi Youth Union Nguyen Duc Tien and Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion Nguyen Ha Thanh presented flowers to congratulate the launch of the Association's Committee, term VII, 2024 - 2029.

The Association also coordinated with districts to organize events, receiving more than 30,000 units of blood, many days receiving over 500 units of blood/batch, such as: Cau Giay, Thanh Xuan, Bac Tu Liem, Gia Lam...

Acknowledging the role of the Hanoi Blood Association in voluntary blood donation activities over the past 30 years, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh - Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion said that the Association has coordinated with the Institute and units, agencies, schools, districts, etc. to mobilize, propagate and organize the reception of more than 750,000 units of blood. In the past 5 years alone, the Association has propagated and mobilized 310,130 units of blood.

Awarding Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union to the Hanoi Youth Blood Donation Association.

The Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion hopes that in the new term, the Hanoi Youth Blood Donation Promotion Committee, term VII, will be a strong collective, leading and operating the organization with enthusiasm and responsibility. With the blood donation promotion activities, the Association Committee, term VII, focuses on expanding the target audience; promoting repeated blood donations, regular blood donations and blood donations of over 350ml.

Previously, at the first session, the Congress conducted consultations to elect 29 members of the Hanoi Blood Association Committee for the 7th term, 2024 - 2029; Mr. Trinh Xuan Thuy continued to be the Association's Chairman for the 2024 - 2029 term; at the same time, consultations were held to elect 4 Vice Chairmen of the Association, 2 standing members, and 1 member in charge of inspection work.
