- With a high sense of responsibility and the synchronous participation of the entire political system, Van Lang district has been and continues to lead Lang Son province in the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. Following the success of completing the target early according to Resolution 188-NQ/TU, Van Lang continues to demonstrate determination, efforts and creative ways of implementing Decision 270/QD-UBND and "reaching the finish line" at the end of April, early May to celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day and International Labor Day.
Immediately after completing the elimination of 256 temporary and dilapidated houses (115 newly built houses, 141 repaired houses) according to Resolution 188-NQ/TU dated October 25, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee "On implementing the Program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for households with meritorious services to the revolution, policy families, poor households, near-poor households, and people affected by natural disasters and climate change in Lang Son province", all levels and sectors in Van Lang district immediately started implementing Decision 270/QD-UBND dated January 24, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee " On approving the results of synthesizing the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for beneficiaries of meritorious services, poor households, near-poor households, households affected by natural disasters and climate change and other subjects in need of support to improve housing in Lang Son province by the end of 2025".
Mr. Nguyen Van Truong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee (SC) for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Van Lang district affirmed: Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is not only a political task but also a responsibility, demonstrating deep concern for policy beneficiaries, meritorious people, poor and near-poor households, and disadvantaged people. This is the top priority in 2025, determined to complete with the highest quality, in the shortest time. The district focuses on supporting households in real difficulty, ensuring that no subjects are left out. The District Party Committee, District People's Committee and SC have been proactive and determined in leading, directing and issuing a series of documents, operating regulations, and assigning specific tasks. SC meetings are held regularly, assessing progress, removing difficulties and urging units and localities to improve their responsibilities.
To realize the determination, the District People's Committee proactively advised the District Steering Committee to organize meetings to assign tasks, urge and evaluate progress. Three working groups were established under Decision 353/QD-UBND to directly inspect and grasp the situation in communes and towns. The working groups regularly "go to every alley, knock on every door", listening to people's concerns. The People's Committees of communes and towns extensively deployed the work of reviewing and mobilizing households eligible for support to participate in the program. Mr. Vy Van Quyet, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuy Hung Commune, Van Lang District shared: Immediately after the direction of the District People's Committee, we urgently reviewed, propagated and mobilized. Commune officials directly visited each household, grasped their thoughts, guided procedures and encouraged people. Thanks to the drastic participation and consensus of the people, the progress was very positive. Before April 30, the whole commune had completed the construction of 5 new houses and repaired 13 houses for beneficiaries. This is one of the practical and meaningful results to celebrate the anniversary of National Reunification Day and International Labor Day this year.
With the efforts and determination of the entire political system, the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses according to Decision 270 has achieved many positive results. For priority subjects, the whole district has 228 households receiving support (121 households building new houses, 107 households repairing). By May 2, 120/121 households had started building new houses and 117/120 households had completed new, spacious houses (reaching 97.5%), the remaining 3 houses will be completed in the first days of May. The work of repairing houses has achieved excellent results, with 107/107 households completing before April 30.
Mr. Luong Quoc Hung (son of a martyr), Binh Do village, Hoi Hoan commune, Van Lang district, excitedly said: My family has lived in a dilapidated house for many years. Thanks to the attention of the Party, the State and the local government, since February 2025, my family has been supported to build a new house of 80 square meters. This is the dream of the whole family. We are extremely grateful and promise toeducate our children and grandchildren to uphold the revolutionary tradition and unite to build a prosperous life.
Mr. Ha Van Vinh, Thuy Hung commune, Van Lang district, was moved: My family's old house was built in 2007, the walls were not plastered, the roof was leaky. Thanks to the support of 30 million VND, along with the savings, my family repaired the roof and walls to be more solid. The house was repaired and put into use in April. I am very happy and grateful for this timely support.
This result not only makes Van Lang district the leading district in the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the whole province, but also promptly brings safe homes to hundreds of families on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and International Labor Day, May 1.
Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee commented: Up to now, while districts and cities have just completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses according to Resolution 188 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and are implementing or starting to implement Decision 270 of the Provincial People's Committee, Van Lang has basically completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in phase 2 according to Decision 270. With fast progress and achieved results, Van Lang is a bright spot in the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. The proactive and decisive leadership and direction, along with the methodical and in-depth approach and consensus of the people have brought about encouraging results. The district's goal of completing ahead of schedule demonstrates its high determination and sense of responsibility for the community. The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee will actively promote the district's good practices for other districts to apply, contributing to accelerating the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, achieving the province's goal of completing before the 18th Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
With constant efforts and effective methods, Van Lang is continuing to effectively implement the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses with the goal of completing it ahead of schedule, contributing significantly to stabilizing and improving people's lives.
Van Lang is continuing to direct a thorough review of the remaining cases and focusing on and resolutely directing the implementation with the goal of completing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for households affected by natural disasters, climate change and other subjects. The district sets a goal of striving to complete the repair of houses for these subjects by May 30 and complete the construction of new houses before June 30 this year. |
