Patient hospitalized with crowbar piercing neck
The patient was admitted to the hospital in a conscious state, with a long crowbar stuck in his neck. The doctors quickly stopped the bleeding, performed first aid, performed an ultrasound scan, and examined the patient for damage to the jawbone and soft tissue in the neck area.
Doctor Ngo Hai Son, Department of Maxillofacial Surgery - Plastic Surgery, Viet Duc Hospital, said that immediately after receiving the patient, doctors from many specialties coordinated to perform surgery to remove foreign objects from the chin and neck area, and treat injuries such as lower jaw fractures and neck injuries...
According to Dr. Son, the patient was quite lucky because if he had gone 1 cm further, the iron bar would have cut into the jugular artery and vein in the side of the neck, risking blood loss and even death if not treated promptly.
Currently, after surgery, the patient's condition is stable, the wound is clean and dry, the patient can live, eat normally and be discharged from the hospital.
