However, the referee announced that boxer Widad Bertal won with a score of 3-2. This result made the Thai side extremely indignant. Jutamas Jitpong and members of the Thai boxing team's coaching staff protested the referee but could not change the result. Faced with that situation, Jutamas Jitpong cried after the match. She said that she had no choice but to accept the referee's result. Meanwhile, members of the Thai boxing team hinted that the referee had oppressed the boxer from the Golden Temple. Speaking to the press, Jutamas Jitpong said: "I was very confident, especially in the third round. I knew I could win when I threw a lot of punches at my opponent. Today's match went exactly as I planned. I don't think I was the loser. If I had made it to the next round, I would have had a chance to win a medal."

Previously, The Sun also accused British boxer Rosie Eccles of suffering many unfair decisions in her match with Polish opponent Aneta Rygielska. The newspaper said that Rosie Eccles suffered many unfair decisions and had to accept a bitter defeat with a score of 2-3. At this point, 4/8 Thai boxers are no longer able to win medals in boxing. At the 2020 Olympics, Thailand won 1 bronze medal in this sport.
