Which young Vietnamese overseas players are worth noting?
Talented young Vietnamese players include striker Aymeric Faurand-Tournaire (21 years old), whose father is French and mother is Vietnamese. He is playing for Laval Club in Ligue 2, the second highest league in France. Next is midfielder Chung Nguyen Do (20 years old), currently playing for Slavia Sofia Club in the highest league in Bulgaria.
Chung Nguyen Do is a rare Vietnamese player playing in the highest league in Europe. This midfielder was just called up to the Bulgaria U.21 team at the FIFA Days last March. In addition, striker Kaelin Nguyen Truong Khoi (22 years old) is becoming the center of attention with his brilliant performance in New Zealand. With a Vietnamese father and an Indian mother, Kaelin Nguyen Truong Khoi possesses skillful personal techniques, sharp goal-scoring ability and the advantage of being left-footed. Another young talent is Julien Nguyen (19 years old), currently playing for the U.19 Fuenlabrada team in the Juvenil U.19 Division de Honor, the highest tournament for U.19 players in Spain. With a height of 1.82 m, Julien Nguyen plays quite prominently in the role of defensive midfielder. In the past, he was trained at Rayo Vallecano Club (currently playing in La Liga). The player has played for Rayo Vallecano U.19, Rayo Vallecano U.18 and has played for Real Madrid's youth team.

It is worth noting that these players all wish to play for the Vietnamese youth teams in the Southeast Asian or Asian tournaments. If this becomes a reality, it can be seen that the youth teams of Vietnamese football will be significantly strengthened in the international arena. In the immediate future, if coach Kim Sang-sik has these players, U.22 Vietnam will increase its chances of winning the gold medal at the upcoming 33rd SEA Games.
However, the biggest difficulty and obstacle for these players is that they do not have Vietnamese nationality. To have nationality, they must return to Vietnam to play for a team in the V-League or the national first division, as in the case of Nguyen Filip or Cao Pendant Quang Vinh. This is also a difficult problem for the above young players because they all want to play in European tournaments to improve their level and further perfect their skills.
Having a pool of quality young players trained in Europe and many other countries shows that the strength of Vietnamese football will increase significantly if we know how to use it skillfully. Moreover, the above players all play in positions that Vietnamese football is lacking such as striker or attacking midfielder. Hopefully, Vietnamese football people can soon contact and work with these players to find the best solution for all parties.
