From the barbie-like appearance of Sabina Altynbekova, to the classic elegance of Zehra Gunes, or the pretty, youthful look of Lee Da Yeong, and the femininity of the golden girls of Vietnam..., volleyball has always been considered a sport that attracts men for reasons "beyond expertise".
But few people know that the sexiness of volleyball stars is a completely... professional story.
Indeed, the percentage of female volleyball players with attractive bodies is so high that even scientists are curious to find the answer. Does volleyball make girls more beautiful?
It may be hard to believe, but it's true.

Unlike soccer, basketball or handball - sports that involve a lot of physical contact between people, volleyball is an indirect sport, meaning there is no blocking, pressing or tackling. This helps female athletes avoid serious injuries that cause body deformation, bone misalignment or scarring.
Dr. Michelle LaBotz - a sports medicine expert in the US - affirmed: "Volleyball is one of the few sports that helps female athletes develop a balanced, healthy body while still maintaining natural softness. The movements do not directly damage the skin or body structure, which is very important for women's beauty."
Develop a harmonious, feminine body
Volleyball works the entire body, but places particular emphasis on the glutes, thighs, shoulders, abs and biceps - the muscle groups that create the characteristic “hourglass” figure in women.

According to the American Council on Exercise (ACE), volleyball is a medium-high intensity full-body exercise that helps burn 250-400 calories/hour depending on intensity and physical condition.
Due to the requirement of moving quickly, jumping high and performing many strong serves or hits, these muscle areas are trained to be firm but not too bulging, still maintaining soft lines, because the testosterone hormone in women is much lower than in men.
Ideal for pre-teens and adults
Scientists at Osaka University (Japan) said that the age of 10-14 is the "golden window" for body development in girls.
Volleyball training during this period helps stimulate height growth thanks to jumping and stretching movements. At the same time, bone density, joint flexibility and balance are also significantly improved.

Not only that, volleyball also helps girls form exercise habits, regulate hormones such as estrogen and progesterone, contributing to the harmonious development of the body, stabilizing the physiological cycle and maintaining femininity in adulthood.
“Volleyball is a great sport to develop a body that meets the beauty standards for women in general. Tall, slim, but still toned and full of vitality,” said Dr. Pamela Peeke (women's health expert, University of Maryland).
Less permanent damage than other sports
A big plus of volleyball is that the rate of long-term injuries to posture is lower than other sports.
Soccer can easily cause knee dislocation and leg fractures; basketball or handball can easily lead to scoliosis or shoulder dislocation due to high-intensity collisions and jumping.
On the contrary, volleyball players - if they have good technique and warm up properly - will have less bone and joint damage, maintain a straight posture, steady gait and harmonious figure.

Volleyball injuries mainly occur in the fingers, ankles or lower spine due to incorrect landing. However, with proper rehabilitation, most injuries do not cause long-term disfigurement.
Confident, radiant from within
Another factor that is often overlooked is mentality. Female volleyball players often have a confident demeanor, strong eyes, and a high competitive spirit.
These factors create an appearance that is no less attractive than the figure. Regularly practicing jumping movements at moderate intensity helps them relieve stress, increase the secretion of endorphins - the happy hormone, brighten the skin, and give a fresh look.
Along with wearing well-fitting, figure-hugging sportswear such as tight pants and neat t-shirts - the image of female volleyball players from the field to social networks all leave a strong impression of a model that is both healthy, beautiful, and naturally attractive.
