Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc has just issued a decision regulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Architecture.

Accordingly, the Department of Planning and Architecture has a director and deputy directors. The number of deputy directors of the Department is implemented according to the decision of the City People's Committee.

The Department has 6 functional departments including: Office; Department of Synthesis and Digital Technology Application; Department of General Planning; Department of Technical Infrastructure Planning; Department of Regional Planning and Architecture (on the basis of merging the Department of Central Urban Area Planning and Architecture, the Department of Eastern Area Planning and Architecture and the Department of Northern Area Planning and Architecture); Inspection and Legal Department.

The Department has 3 public service units including:

Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Construction Planning (on the basis of merging the City Institute of Construction Planning (before reorganization), Binh Duong Urban Development Planning Center and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Urban Development Planning Center).

Ho Chi Minh City Center for Planning and Architecture (on the basis of merging Ho Chi Minh City Center for Planning Information, Ho Chi Minh City Center for Architectural Research and Construction Management Board of City Planning Exhibition Center).

Ho Chi Minh City Urban Development Management Board (on the basis of transferring the status quo of Ho Chi Minh City Urban Development Management Board under the City People's Committee to the Department of Planning and Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City).

According to the decision of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Planning and Architecture performs the function of advising and assisting the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in state management of the field of construction planning and architecture and performs according to decentralization and authorization with 17 assigned tasks and powers in the field of architecture.

Previously, on September 29, at the 4th session, the 10th term People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City passed a resolution on the establishment of the Department of Planning and Architecture on the basis of transferring a number of functions and tasks from the Department of Construction.

Also on September 29, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc handed over the decision to appoint Mr. Vo Hoang Ngan - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction - as Director of the Department of Planning and Architecture.
