For the hundred-year career of "growing people"

Throughout his life, President Ho Chi Minh always considered people as the goal and driving force of development. Therefore, he pointed out: "For the benefit of ten years, we must plant trees, for the benefit of a hundred years, we must cultivate people". That means we must always put people in the central position, above all and first; we must pay attention to the education and training of the young generation, the next generation; because "cultivating people" is a long-term career, deciding the future and destiny of the country and the nation.

Imbued with his ideology, our Party and State have always consistently held the view that “ education is the top national policy” to form “Virtue - Intelligence - Body - Beauty” of human beings. Especially in the period when the country is entering the era of development, the cause of “cultivating people” becomes even more important and urgent; conditions and resources for education and training are increasingly invested in.

One of the strategic resolutions that “leads” the country to “take off” into a period of strength and prosperity is Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development. With large, specific goals, tasks, and strong breakthrough solutions, the resolution is expected to fundamentally and comprehensively reform education and training, aiming for Vietnam’s education and training to reach the advanced level of the Asian region by 2030 and the advanced level of the world by 2045.

In addition, the National Assembly also proposed many policies related to education, such as: increasing the budget for education, implementing strong digital transformation, innovating programs and quality assessment, improving capacity and treatment for teachers, creating a specific financial mechanism for vocational and university education... At the 10th Session, the 15th National Assembly spent a lot of time for delegates to discuss and give opinions on the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Education, the Law on Higher Education (amended), the Law on Vocational Education (amended)... Thereby, it is hoped that many new policies after coming into effect and going into practice will bring about an education: teaching and learning in substance. Previously, a number of humane policies of our Party and State have been implemented, receiving the consensus of parents and the whole society, such as: Exemption of tuition fees for all students of public preschools, primary schools, secondary schools and high schools from the 2025-2026 school year; meal assistance; towards free school meals...

Not only that, at the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the education sector's tradition and the opening of the 2025-2026 school year, General Secretary To Lam called on the entire Party, people, and army; all levels, sectors, and localities; each family and each citizen - to join hands in caring for the cause of "growing people", for the future of our children, for the prosperity of the Fatherland, and for the happiness of the people.

Most recently, on November 9, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of primary and secondary boarding schools in the land border communes was held simultaneously, bringing boundless happiness to teachers and students in the highlands. A total of 100 boarding and semi-boarding schools for students and teachers in the land border communes were directed by the Prime Minister to be "quickly and boldly" completed for handover and use in August 2026; at the same time, research is being done to continue building 148 schools to achieve the goal of completing 248 schools nationwide by 2028. This is a very special attention, a very high determination, a great effort for the "fence" communes, because, according to the Prime Minister, "keeping the people is keeping the land, sowing letters is keeping the country"; each teacher is a person "staying in the village, sowing letters, keeping the country"...

These days, commemorating the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025), many activities to honor and show gratitude to teachers are being held enthusiastically and simultaneously throughout the country, with special attention from all levels, sectors and the whole society. Grateful and respectful to those who "row the river of knowledge" who have devoted themselves and made every effort to contribute, dedicate, and silently sacrifice "sowing seeds of knowledge, nurturing dreams, awakening passion, inspiring creativity, and building the foundation for the future" for generations of students. Not only imparting knowledge, teachers are also companions, helping students explore the world and find life values. For every teacher, teaching is not just a job but also a passion and a sacred mission - contributing to building the noble career of "cultivating people".
