[Video] Proposal to eliminate considering academic records and limit admission wishes

At the University Education Conference on September 18, the Ministry of Education and Training solicited opinions on two major issues: whether to continue university admission based on academic records and whether to limit the number of candidates' wishes.

According to statistics in 2025, the method of considering academic records accounts for 42.4% of the total quota, while using graduation exam scores accounts for 39.1%, the rest are other methods.

Regarding the number of wishes, the Ministry of Education and Training proposed three options: limit to a maximum of 5, 10, or keep it unlimited.

Data for 2025 shows that 852,000 candidates registered with 7.6 million wishes; nearly 40% of candidates registered with 5 wishes, about 31% registered with 10 wishes, and nearly 30% registered with more than 10 wishes.
