[Video] Resolution on tuition exemption and support from the 2025-2026 school year passed

Continuing the 9th session, the 15th National Assembly voted to pass a Resolution on tuition exemption and support policies for preschool and primary school students, with 440/441 delegates in favor.

Preschool children and primary school students who are Vietnamese citizens or people of Vietnamese origin whose nationality has not been determined and are studying at publiceducational institutions will be exempted from tuition fees from the 2025–2026 school year.

In case of studying at private or public institutions, tuition fees will be supported. The support level will be decided by the Provincial People's Council according to the framework prescribed by the Government , not exceeding the actual tuition fee level.

The policy applies to learners of general education programs in the national education system, contributing to reducing the burden of learning costs for families and encouraging the development of the non-public education system.

The total estimated implementation cost is about 30,600 billion VND, of which the central budget supports localities with about 8,200 billion VND.

The Resolution comes into force from June 26, 2025.
