At 10:00 p.m. on June 27, the Lang Son Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the US National Caving Association online.
This is a concrete step to promote international cooperation in building and developing the Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark, thereby opening up opportunities to introduce the potential for developing cave and sinkhole exploration tourism in the park area in the coming time.
The National Cave Association of the United States is a non-governmental organization that represents the United States on international issues related to cave science and exploration. It is also an organizational member of the International Cave Alliance.

Each year, the National Cave Association of America holds various meetings and conferences, including the Annual Conference primarily for the presentation of peer-reviewed papers and talks on caves.
This is the national caving organization of the United States, with more than 8,000 members and more than 250 local chapters. The association connects cavers so they can participate in the exploration, research, and conservation of caves around the world.
In 2024, the US National Cave Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Vietnam Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources (VIGMR). In this Memorandum, the US National Cave Association will support the Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark in exploring, mapping, and developing cave resources for the Park.

In recent times, the Lang Son Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion has actively cooperated with the US National Cave Association to organize many surveys and evaluate the potential for developing geological tourism products in the Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark and achieved many extremely positive results.

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding will open up opportunities to introduce and promote Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark in terms of its potential in scientific research (geology, biodiversity, etc.) and the potential for developing geological tourism products in caves and sinkholes to experts, researchers, cave explorers who are members of the Association and explorers around the world.

After signing, the two sides will promote organizing for Association members in the US to come to research, survey, and explore caves/sinkholes in the Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark area (including 2 groups of subjects: a group of experts and researchers to research, map, and train in rescue and relief; a group of tourists who love and are passionate about cave exploration).
At the same time, the two sides continue to coordinate to promote communication and promotion of Lang Son Geopark on a number of media channels in the US and social networking platforms.
