The series of activities, which lasted from June 27 to July 1, included many exhibitions, art and propaganda programs with the aim of arousing pride in the land of Saigon-Ho Chi Minh City; at the same time, introducing the city's future development vision in the process of international integration. This series of activities also marked the beginning of a strategic development phase, with the aim of comprehensively restructuring the urban space of Ho Chi Minh City.

City leaders awarded Environmental Awards to groups and individuals with practical contributions in the field of environmental protection.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, an art performance with the theme "For a clean, green and environmentally friendly city" took place in a vibrant manner, responding to the Environmental Action Month 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong emphasized that along with socio-economic achievements, Ho Chi Minh City is facing many challenges regarding the environment, waste, air pollution, canals, and climate change.

Faced with the urgent need to ensure the quality of the living environment, the city always identifies environmental protection as a key task and the foundation for sustainable development.

Environmental protection goals and solutions are focused on integrating into the city's orientations and planning, linked to the development orientations of all sectors and fields.

Ho Chi Minh City after merging with Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces will form a new development space with outstanding stature and scale, aiming to build a global city.

This is an opportunity for the city to restructure its strategy, develop in the direction of green integration, and take environmental quality as a measure of prosperity and sustainability.
