Model of cooperation between school and business
On the afternoon of September 30, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport and Deo Ca Group held a ceremony to announce the establishment of Deo Ca Training Research Institute (DCI). This is the result of cooperation between the university and enterprises to train and develop human resources in a timely manner to meet the needs of resources, jobs, and modern technology applications.
Speaking at the congratulatory ceremony for the establishment of the Deo Ca Training Research Institute, Mr. Lai Xuan Mon, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, assessed that this is a new and creative model. "This innovative approach will help improve the quality of human resources, build a team of experts for the transport sector and other fields, contributing to the implementation of the Party's resolution so that by 2025 we will become an industrialized country," Mr. Mon commented.
Sharing in the program, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phuong, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, said that the Resolution of the 6th Conference of the 11th Party Central Committee stated that universities must closely link businesses, employers, training institutions and the state to develop human resources according to social needs.

It can be seen that the car company Land Rover and Warwick University have created a world-famous car line; the pharmaceutical company AstraZenesca and Oxford University have developed a vaccine to help protect people from the Covid-19 pandemic... This cooperation has a very positive impact on teaching and scientific research activities and has continuously improved the quality of students.

In Vietnam, according to Associate Professor Nguyen Xuan Phuong, in recent years, the cooperation model between schools and businesses to create high-quality human resources to meet market demand has been an important task for training institutions. Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport and Deo Ca Group officially cooperated to establish the Deo Ca Training Research Institute to carry out four main tasks: training, applied scientific research and technology transfer, consulting and project implementation.
"In the coming time, we are determined to build a key laboratory for the transport industry, mastering special experiments that Vietnam has not been able to do yet such as: wind tunnels, earthquakes, large span structures, suspension bridges, cable-stayed bridges", informed the Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport.

"Two things cannot be borrowed: people and culture "
Sharing in the program, Mr. Ho Minh Hoang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deo Ca Group, said that after 38 years of establishment and development, this group has become the leading investor and general contractor for transport infrastructure construction in the country and is gradually expanding internationally.
"For sustainable development, we identify people and culture as two things that cannot be borrowed. People must be self-trained and practiced. Culture must be built with great effort. Therefore, the Deo Ca Training Research Institute was established to improve the quality of training combining theory with practice of enterprises; pioneer in research and consulting on modern construction technology; be the focal point for international cooperation to elevate enterprises," Mr. Hoang emphasized.
According to Mr. Hoang, the establishment of the Deo Ca Training Research Institute is a pioneering step for the school and the enterprise to concretize specific goals and tasks. For the school, it is to train high-quality human resources for the transport industry. For the enterprise, it is to train its capacity, to connect practices from the private sector to the state, from the implementing side to the management side, to navigate the criteria: progress, quality, transparency.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deo Ca Group also said that the institute will use the intellectual team of members of the advisory board, the board of directors and qualified staff of the group, and lecturers of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport. At the same time, the institute will also recruit and invite experts to participate in teaching to improve the quality of training.
Mr. Le Quynh Mai, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deo Ca Group - Deputy Director of Deo Ca Training Research Institute, said that the institute is expected to gradually become one of the prestigious providers of science and technology services in the field of transportation in the country and the region, further promoting the school's scientific research activities and technology transfer in the future.
