According to information from the National Innovation Center (NIC), Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung will attend and deliver an online speech at the forum. The event is hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria, in coordination with NIC and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKO).

The long-term goal is to support Vietnam in realizing its aspiration to become a high-income developed country by 2045.

The event brings together many big names in the technology industry of the two countries such as UNIDO, TTTech, Infineon Technologies Austria, Siconnex, Dynatrace (Austria) and FPT, VNPT, Sovico, Genetica (Vietnam), along with many prestigious enterprises, research institutes and universities. This will be the first forum held in Europe dedicated to promoting information exchange, policy updates and innovation ecosystems between Vietnam and leading European technology partners.

Speaking ahead of the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of Austria Vu Le Thai Hoang emphasized that the forum is a practical activity in response to the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development and national digital transformation. The Ambassador affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the network of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad have identified “technological diplomacy” as a priority in comprehensive and modern diplomacy for cooperation and development.

“The event has received positive responses from Austrian partners, especially WKO, universities, research institutes and large technology corporations from both sides,” said the Ambassador.

Mr. Vo Xuan Hoai, Deputy Director of NIC, said that this is a key activity in the strategy to promote international cooperation on innovation. He emphasized that Vietnam is aiming to become a regional innovation center, focusing on developing and applying core technologies such as AI, IoT, and semiconductors to serve the digital transformation process and enhance national competitiveness.

“The potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Austria is huge, especially in technology transfer, developing high-quality human resources and creating sustainable added value for both economies,” Mr. Hoai emphasized.

With the strength of being one of the leading European countries in core technology research and application, Austria has achieved many achievements in fields such as electronics, smart sensors, semiconductor devices and advanced chip technology. These achievements play a key role in the foundation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, providing a solid foundation for expanding cooperation with Vietnam.

The Vietnam-Austria High-Tech Cooperation and Innovation Forum 2025 is not only a bridge between technology enterprises but also opens a strategic dialogue channel with European academics and policy makers. Through this, Vietnam has the opportunity to increase the depth of science and technology relations, affirming its role as a strategic destination for international technology "eagles", gradually affirming its position on the global innovation map.
