Vietnam values ​​friendly relations with Kyrgyzstan

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of March 6, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received Prime Minister of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev on the occasion of his official visit to Vietnam from March 6-7, 2025.

At the reception, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev and the high-ranking delegation's official visit to Vietnam, believing that the visit will open a new phase for the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

General Secretary To Lam congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its important achievements in recent times under the leadership of President Sadyr Japarov and the administration of the Kyrgyzstan Government ; affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to the friendly relationship with Kyrgyzstan - a traditional friend that has supported the Vietnamese people in the past struggle for independence and in the current national construction, emphasizing that this is a priceless asset that has been built by the leaders and people of the two countries.

The General Secretary assessed that over the past three decades, political and diplomatic relations have been strengthened, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has had positive developments, however, there is still much room to be exploited and promoted, wishing to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in all fields on the basis of agreements and commitments between the two sides, effectively taking advantage of the advantages of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union; the two countries can promote their connecting role in the Central Asian region and ASEAN.

The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan expressed his joy at coming to Vietnam for the first time and the great honor of opening a new chapter for the bilateral cooperation relationship; thanked General Secretary To Lam for his kind words about the bilateral relationship; conveyed the regards of President Sadyr Japarov to the General Secretary; and was moved by the warm and hospitable welcome that the Party, Government and People of Vietnam had given to the Prime Minister and the Kyrgyz delegation since they arrived in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister expressed his deep impression of Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements and increasing international position under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and wished to share Vietnam's experience in development.

The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan shared that during his talks with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the two sides agreed to propose specific directions to strengthen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, education, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchange; emphasizing that as a mountainous country, Kyrgyzstan hopes to strengthen relations with Vietnam in the field of mountain protection, and welcomes Vietnam to attend international conferences on mountains organized by Kyrgyzstan.

Discussing the directions for developing bilateral relations in the coming time, the two leaders agreed that the two countries have great potential to promote bilateral cooperation on the basis of harmonizing interests; emphasized the need to promote contacts at all levels, through all bilateral and multilateral channels, the Party and the National Assembly to enhance political trust; and promote the establishment of cooperation mechanisms between ministries, branches and localities.

Agreeing to assess the potential for cooperation in many fields, the two leaders emphasized that the two sides should further promote cooperation in security and defense, strengthen transport connectivity including air, rail, logistics, connecting Vietnam and Southeast Asia with Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia. On this occasion, the General Secretary also thanked the Kyrgyz Government for creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Kyrgyzstan.

Regarding multilateral cooperation, the two sides agreed to increase contact, consultation, and consider supporting each other's candidacies and initiatives at multilateral forums, including the United Nations and the Eurasian Economic Union.
