On November 19, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province to chair a conference on national tourism promotion in 2026, organized by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism.

The conference took place in the context of Vietnam's tourism industry continuing to maintain positive growth momentum, international tourism demand recovering strongly, competition for destinations in the region increasing, while the trend of tourism promotion and marketing is rapidly shifting to digital and data-based models.
The focus of the conference was to discuss a group of solutions to improve and innovate tourism promotion activities, from fundamental factors such as perfecting institutions, building policies, establishing strategic orientations and coordination mechanisms between central - local - enterprises, to innovating the model of implementing promotion and advertising activities in the market.
At the same time, the conference emphasized the key role of communication and promotion in the national promotion system, considering this an important pillar that needs to be developed in a modern direction, based on data, strongly applying digital platforms and ensuring professionalism, consistency and wide dissemination.
At the same time, the organization of the 2025 conference also aims to determine tasks for 2026 in close compliance with the Government 's direction, especially Resolution 226/NQ-CP and Official Dispatch 34/CD-TTg on promoting international tourist attraction.

At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said that in the first 10 months of this year, Vietnam welcomed over 17.2 million international visitors, an increase of 21.5% over the same period in 2024. Vietnam is one of the two countries leading the world in international visitor growth in the first half of the year (achieving and exceeding the target).
According to the Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the brand and positioning of Vietnam as an attractive destination on the world tourism map is increasingly consolidated and highlighted; especially the identity of "Vietnam - Endless Beauty" and "Live Fully in Vietnam" after the pandemic has also gradually been consolidated and shaped more clearly.
"Vietnam's tourist destinations have received many awards and high rankings from prestigious international tourism and media organizations. Vietnam is also always among the top destinations with the highest growth in Google searches by tourists," Ms. Hoa shared.
Delegates from provinces, cities and businesses attending the conference gave opinions focusing on the need to innovate promotion methods, build an effective multi-stakeholder linkage model, increase the role of businesses and exploit the potential of Vietnamese cuisine as a pillar of the national tourism brand...

Mr. Ho An Phong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, requested the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to take the lead in advising on the development and completion of the tourism promotion plan for 2026; innovate the content and methods of promotion in a modern and professional direction; focus on key communication campaigns; strengthen digital promotion and international cooperation; fully synthesize the results of the Conference to advise on the completion of related mechanisms and policies.
In addition, the Deputy Minister also requested localities to proactively develop promotion plans in line with the potential and advantages of each locality; actively participate in general promotion activities; focus on developing unique, high-quality, experience-rich tourism products; and at the same time create favorable conditions for businesses in implementing tourism activities.
Mr. Phong also suggested that the business community and tourism associations continue to promote creativity and initiative in developing new products; accompany management agencies in promotion; strengthen links between businesses and businesses, businesses and localities; effectively exploit market opportunities and shifting trends of international tourist flows.
"The results of today's conference are an important premise for the tourism industry to effectively implement promotion tasks in 2026, contributing to the goal of rapid and sustainable development of Vietnam tourism in the new period," Mr. Ho An Phong emphasized.
