As of early June this year, Korea has welcomed 163,000 tourists from Vietnam, reaching 73% compared to the same period in 2019. This is an extremely positive sign of recovery of Korean tourism in the Vietnamese market. On the momentum of this strong recovery, KTO is promoting many tourism promotion activities in the second half of 2023.
2023 marks the beginning of the 2023-2024 Korean Tourism Year with the slogan "Ride the Korean Wave". True to the spirit of "Surfing the Korean Wave", since the beginning of the year, KTO has organized many unique tourism promotion programs such as: Jeollabuk-do Province Tourism Seminar; Incheon City Tourism Seminar; Gyeongsangbuk-do Province Tourism Seminar; especially the Chef Show 2023 performance was extremely successful in Hanoi with nearly 1,000 attendees in 3 days, receiving a lot of support and love from the audience.
In late March and early April, KTO broadcast the music program Busking Hello Korea with the participation of singers from both Vietnam and Korea such as Vu Cat Tuong, Andiez, Cara, Luc Huy, Roy Nguyen, Kisu, Hoondoo. The program consists of 2 episodes posted on platforms such as Youtube, Facebook and Vieon, reaching nearly 4 million views and reaching the top trending on the Tiktok platform with a total of nearly 130 million hashtag views. In the program, not only do the singers get to sing in the beautiful spaces of Seoraksan Mountain or the white snow of Yongpyong Resort, but they also visit famous landmarks of Gangwon-do such as Gangneung Beach, Sokcho Beach, Naksansa Temple, Sokcho Seafood Market, ARTE Museum, etc.
Following the success of previous years, the MICE Tourism Seminar - MICE Roadshow 2023 was also successfully held in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in early June with the participation of 50 representatives from 24 Korean units, 150 representatives from tourism promotion agencies, airlines, Vietnamese travel companies and many press and media units. The program is a place to connect and expand cooperation opportunities between business and travel units of the two countries, thereby developing more attractive Korean tourism products, attracting more tourists.
Along with the organization, KTO also actively participates in programs organized by Vietnamese and Korean agencies such as the Korean Cultural Road Festival, Hanoi City Tourism Festival, VITM 2023 International Tourism Fair, K-pop Lover Festival Contest. In particular, at the VITM 2023 International Tourism Fair, KTO participated with a scale of 16 booths, winning many titles such as the Largest Booth, the Most Impressive Design Booth, the Booth with the Most Attractive Activities for Visitors. Vietnam International Tourism Fair (VITM) is an annual event that is always valued by KTO and evaluated as one of the good opportunities to get closer to Vietnamese tourists.
