Lack of key products
Tra Tap has been gradually tapping into its existing potential, from ginseng, medicinal plants to OCOP product processing, from traditional agriculture, indigenous culture to community tourism orientation. However, the commune is still in the process of identifying key products to have a basis for effective and long-term development.
With Ngoc Linh ginseng and medicinal herbs, the whole commune currently has more than 56 households participating in ginseng cultivation, along with hundreds of hectares of Tra My cinnamon, southern ginseng, golden orchid, seven-leaf orchid... This is a valuable foundation for forming commodity production models, linking agriculture with services and tourism.
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tra Tap Commune, Le Trung Thuc, if Ngoc Linh ginseng is considered the main product, it is not in line with the commune's long-term vision, because in terms of area, household size or product consumption, the rate of Tra Tap is much lower than that of the "capital" Tra Linh.

The area of medicinal herbs in the commune is currently still scattered, and has not yet formed a large-scale specialized area to create its own brand. Meanwhile, local products such as vegetables, tubers, wild fruits, and domestic animals do not have enough conditions to create unique products and attract users.
The diversity but not really uniqueness of the existing products leads to the determination that the main product of Tra Tap is still in a "hesitant" state, without a highlight to shape the brand for the existing agricultural products and create future tourism products.
In fact, the lack of agricultural products has led to a shortage of revenue for Tra Tap in the process of developing tourism. The Tak Po cloud hunting spot has started welcoming visitors for many months, but so far there are still no products to sell to tourists. Visitors come to stay overnight, make their own food, “hunt clouds”, and then leave without any tourism products to bring back. That is the gap that the production-consumption linkage model needs to fill.
Adapt to potential
In the next 5-year term, Tra Tap has set many quite "ambitious" goals, but it will be a miracle if completed, which is to build a commune that meets new rural standards by 2030 and orient tourism to become one of the key industries for economic development. If we combine the targets of these two seemingly unrelated goals, we will be able to solve some difficult problems.

According to Tra Tap Commune Party Secretary Ha Ra Dieu, setting the goal of building a new countryside is completely reasonable, although there are targets that need a lot of time to research and implement to suit local conditions, such as target number 13. In addition to investing in facilities, infrastructure, and improving people's knowledge, Tra Tap Commune also advocates developing economic models, such as the first deer breeding project, or fish farming in the fields...
In the immediate future, Tra Tap will identify products suitable for agricultural development associated with tourism, including on-site products such as accommodation services, traditional cuisine, and agricultural farming experiences. On the other hand, it will create products to bring back, which can be ginseng, medicinal herbs, brocade, bamboo and rattan weaving... if local supply can be ensured.

It can be said that Tra Tap has opportunities but needs the right time to transform from potential to action. The commune has a brand, products, and dedicated people, what remains is connection and the desire to rise up by one's own strength.
If each person knows how to consider their homeland as an "asset", knows how to turn indigenous culture into economic value, Tra Tap will not only complete criterion 13 but can also become a bright spot in rural economic development associated with tourism development. Because building a new countryside is not just about infrastructure or standard numbers, but more deeply, it is a journey to awaken the inner strength of the community; create real values, contribute to improving the quality of material and spiritual life of the people in a sustainable way.
