Fresh rice prices increase as supply decreases sharply
Rice prices in the Mekong Delta (MD) this morning recorded a significant increase in fresh rice. Farmers and traders have proactively offered higher prices.
IR 50404 rice (fresh) increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 5,100 - 5,300 VND/kg.
Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) increased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg.

OM 5451 rice (fresh) increased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating between 5,400 - 5,600 VND/kg.
Localities such as Dong Thap, Can Tho , and Vinh Long all said that the remaining harvested rice supply is low, making it easier to close price transactions.

Export rice prices remain stable
According to the Vietnam Food Association, 5% broken fragrant rice is trading at 420 - 440 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 314 - 318 USD/ton; Jasmine rice remains at 447 - 451 USD/ton. Prices generally remain unchanged compared to yesterday.
According to data from the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, the 2025 Autumn-Winter rice crop in the Mekong Delta has harvested 523,000 hectares as of November 24. With a total planted area of 621,000 hectares, the remaining rice area in the fields is only about 98,000 hectares.
This figure shows that rice production in the Mekong Delta has "exhausted", while domestic market demand is recovering, stimulating rice prices to increase again in recent days.
Ms. Ngo Ngoc Yen (Yen Ngoc Food Company) said that the demand from traders is high while the supply is limited, contributing to the price increase again. The factor of low rice supply from Cambodia also helps the domestic market to improve.
The export market shows that Vietnamese rice prices are unchanged from yesterday, but demand is increasing. Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh (Angimex) said that currently, the import market is buying more for end-of-year consumption and early next year. Some large ships are coming to pick up goods for this occasion, leading to an annual increase in prices.
VFA's report said that in the second half of November, 15 ships entered ports in the Ho Chi Minh City and My Thoi areas to load cargo with a total volume of over 131,000 tons. Africa, Malaysia and the Philippines are the three main import markets. In particular, Philippine customers are negotiating to sign contracts to receive deliveries from January 2026, which is a positive factor pushing up demand.
