On the afternoon of November 7, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu received a delegation from the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance of Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture (Japan), led by Chairman Murano Seiichi, who is visiting Vietnam from November 7-9.

Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu welcomed the delegation of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union of Kobe City to visit Vietnam at a time when the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations; expressed his delight at the strong, comprehensive, increasingly profound and substantial development of the Vietnam-Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership in recent years; affirmed that Vietnam always considers Japan a leading and long-term important partner; emphasized that Japan is Vietnam's leading economic cooperation partner in the fields of ODA, investment, trade, labor, tourism, local cooperation and people-to-people exchange, and shares many similarities in culture, history, etc.
On behalf of the delegation, Chairman Murano reported to Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu on the activities of the Friendship Parliamentary Union in recent times; informed that the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Union of Kobe City was established in 2019 and is the first Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Union in Hyogo Prefecture, with 36/65 city parliamentarians as members; expressed his impression of the remarkable development of Vietnam and the Vietnam - Japan relationship in recent years.
President Murano affirmed his desire to promote effective and substantive cooperation between Kobe city and localities of Vietnam, including Ha Nam province, Quang Ninh province, Hai Phong city, especially in the fields of economy, investment, trade, cultural exchange, and people-to-people exchange; is ready to create favorable conditions to receive outstanding Vietnamese people to study and work in Kobe city; and wishes to strengthen tourism cooperation with Vietnam through establishing a direct flight connecting Kobe with Vietnam.
Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu highly appreciated the contributions and active support of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union of Kobe City in promoting economic, cultural and people-to-people cooperation between Kobe City and Vietnam and in the activities of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka in recent times, thereby contributing to deepening the good cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan.
The Deputy Minister suggested that the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union of Kobe City pay attention to promoting the province's enterprises to invest in areas of interest to Vietnam such as manufacturing industry, high-tech agriculture, processing, export and import of agricultural products; and promote the recreation of Japanese elderly people in Vietnam.
On this occasion, Chairman Murano expressed his gratitude and requested the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue to pay attention to and support the activities of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union of Kobe City, as well as further promote the friendly and cooperative relations between Kobe and localities of Vietnam in the coming time.
