Vietnam-Uzbekistan further develop relations and cooperation to meet people's interests

At the meeting, President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that Vietnam's consistent policy is to always attach importance to developing traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, and hopes that Vietnam-Uzbekistan relations will develop more substantially, meeting the interests of the people of the two countries.

Based on the appreciation of the potential for cooperation, the President suggested that the two sides promote economic and trade cooperation, which has shown signs of improvement recently, while deepening other potential areas such as education and training, cultural exchange, tourism, people-to-people exchange, and research to open direct flights connecting destinations of the two countries.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated and expressed his impression of Vietnam's achievements in innovation and socio-economic development in recent times and agreed with the proposals of President Vo Van Thuong to promote cooperation between the two countries, focusing on the fields of economy, trade and tourism , in the immediate future prioritizing the exchange of business delegations between the two countries, seeking and expanding business cooperation opportunities.

The President affirmed that Uzbekistan highly values its relations with Vietnam and wishes to restore traditional areas of cooperation between the two countries, especially oil and gas, education, training, student exchange, and cultural exchanges. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev respectfully invited President Vo Van Thuong to visit Uzbekistan soon.

The two leaders agreed that the two sides should continue to strengthen cooperation at multilateral forums, including the United Nations and other international organizations. Uzbekistan hopes that Vietnam will act as a bridge for Uzbekistan to strengthen its connection with ASEAN; Vietnam wants to use Uzbekistan to further strengthen its cooperative relations with the Central Asian region.

On this occasion, President Vo Van Thuong respectfully invited President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to visit Vietnam soon.
