VietinBank announces automatic update of tax code according to personal identification code

From July 2025, VietinBank will automatically update tax codes based on personal identification codes, helping to increase accuracy and convenience for customers.

According to Circular 86/2024/TT-BTC issued by the Ministry of Finance , from July 2025, personal tax codes and business household tax codes will be unified by personal identification codes (chip-embedded citizen identification numbers or level 2 VNeID identification codes).

In compliance with this regulation, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) officially implemented the automatic updating of customers' tax codes based on personal identification codes.

Specifically, VietinBank automatically updates the customer's personal tax code and business tax code based on the personal identification code (ID card number/chip-embedded citizen identification card or VNeID account identification code level 2).

Specifically, for individual customers, the personal tax code is replaced by the customer's personal identification number; for customers who are business households, the tax code of the business household is replaced by the personal identification number of the household owner - the legal representative of the business household.

The update helps ensure consistency in information data, increases accuracy on invoices and banking transaction documents, and facilitates people when declaring taxes or performing administrative procedures.

Applicable subjects include customers who have registered a tax code at VietinBank and have personal information matching data from the National Population Database.

The update process is performed automatically on the VietinBank system, starting from July 2025, customers do not need to perform any additional procedures, except in cases where identification information needs to be adjusted or supplemented./.
