inFast Tamil Nadu is the third factory to officially come into operation and also the fifth project in VinFast 's global factory chain. This is also the first facility to be inaugurated outside of Vietnam, demonstrating the global expansion vision and large-scale project implementation capacity of a Vietnamese brand.
When operating at full capacity, the plant is expected to create direct jobs for 3,000-3,500 local workers, along with thousands of indirect jobs in the supply ecosystem, contributing to promoting socio -economic development in Tamil Nadu state, making this area a manufacturing hub of India and has the potential to become the electric vehicle capital of South Asia in the near future.

In the initial phase, VinFast Tamil Nadu will focus on assembling two high-end electric vehicle models, VF 7 (segment C) and VF 6 (segment B). The initial capacity is 50,000 vehicles/year, which can reach 150,000 vehicles/year to meet market demand.
With the inauguration of the Tamil Nadu factory, VinFast has taken an important step towards its goal of achieving sales of 200,000 vehicles by 2025 and an output of 1 million vehicles per year by 2030. This event once again affirms VinFast's vision and commitment to promoting sustainable transportation trends towards a green future in India and globally.
Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, General Director of VinFast Asia, emphasized: “ The VinFast Tamil Nadu factory is a strategic milestone affirming our long-term commitment to the Indian market, while laying a solid foundation for our sustainable growth. This facility will help VinFast bring high-quality electric vehicles to Indian consumers at competitive prices.

“In the coming time, the factory will continue to expand its capacity to meet the growing demand, and we aim to develop this factory into VinFast’s largest export hub for South Asia, the Middle East and Africa. In fact, we have received initial orders from many countries in these regions. With close cooperation with the Tamil Nadu government, VinFast is striving to turn this factory into the ‘electric vehicle capital of South Asia’, serving both the dynamic domestic market and the regional expansion strategy.”
The VinFast Tamil Nadu plant will not only expand the automaker’s global manufacturing capacity but also contribute significantly to India’s green industry development goals. The plant will prioritize cooperation with domestic suppliers, promote localization of the supply chain, technology transfer and enhance local labor capacity.

Since its launch in India, VinFast has been vigorously pursuing a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem model, from assembly, distribution to after-sales services and recycling. The inauguration of the 160-hectare factory in Tamil Nadu is a strategic piece to complete this value chain. In parallel, VinFast has cooperated with many dealer partners in key cities, and joined hands with units such as RoadGrid, myTVS, Global Assure to build a digital service and after-sales care system. VinFast also cooperates with BatX Energies to collect and reuse batteries, aiming for a circular production model and sustainable development in the world's third largest automobile market.
