Vinicius is one of the world's top stars.

According to Marca , the company Tiberis Holding do Brasil filed a complaint with FIFA's Ethics Investigation Chamber on April 7, requesting a ban on Vinicius.

At the heart of the allegations is Vinicius' alleged involvement in the ownership of professional football clubs through the company ALL Agenciamento Esportivo – a business run by his father and agent Thassilo Soares.

This is considered a violation of Article 20 of the FIFA Code of Ethics and Article 22 of the RFEF Sports Justice Code, both of which prohibit professional players, directly or indirectly, from owning shares in active football clubs, in order to avoid conflicts of interest.

The specific case revolves around Athletic Club de Sao Joao del Rei, a Brazilian team recently promoted to Serie B. Tiberis, which held a 16.5% stake, was excluded from a major share transfer, most of which is believed to have gone to a company linked to Vinicius. The Sao Paulo Commercial Court has suspended the transaction and is currently in arbitration proceedings. In the meantime, however, Vinicius’s company controls the club.

In addition, Vinicius is also said to intend to buy back Alverca Club (Portugal), raising suspicions that he is expanding his influence in the football world in a direction that is not suitable for a playing player.

While FIFA is still reviewing the case, if found guilty, penalties could range from the obligation to sell shares, to a fine, to the most severe punishment being a two-year ban. However, FIFA could also reject the case if there is insufficient legal basis. All eyes are now on the upcoming decision from the world's most powerful football body.
