VNGGames and NCSOFT launch Lineage2M in Southeast Asia market

The joint venture between VNGGames and NCSOFT will release the game Lineage2M in Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam on May 20.

At the Lineage2M Grand Showcase event held in Thailand, the joint venture VNGGames and NCSOFT (NCV Games) officially announced the release of the MMORPG game product Lineage2M in the Southeast Asian market, including Vietnam.

Mr. Bae Jungyong – CEO of NCV Games and Vice President of NCSOFT – said that the development team has optimized the product to bring an experience suitable for each release region. The game system is promised to reduce the proportion of item transactions, increase the ability to collect through gameplay, aiming for fairness and naturalness for players.

In addition, Lineage2M also focuses on localization such as accurate content translation, 24/7 customer support, and building a community of players in the region. Mr. Kelly Wong - Vice President of VNG and CEO of VNGGames - said that the release of Lineage2M in Southeast Asia marks a strategic step in VNGGames' internationalization journey.

Lineage2M is an MMORPG game inherited from NCSOFT's Lineage brand.

Lineage2M will officially launch on May 20, 2025 as a cross-platform game, supporting iOS, Android and PC platforms (via the Purple Launcher app). The game will use an international server system, allowing players in countries in the region to interact, compete and cooperate directly in the same environment.

In particular, Google Cloud will be the partner providing server infrastructure for the project, ensuring stable transmission, supporting 4K graphics display and smooth operation of inter-server features, one of the notable technological highlights of Lineage2M.

Lineage2M is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by NCSOFT of Korea. It is the spiritual successor to Lineage II, one of the most successful MMORPGs in Asia in the 2000s. The game was released in Korea in November 2019, quickly topping the App Store and Google Play charts thanks to its 4K UHD graphics, seamless maps, large-scale PvP combat system, and legacy from the Lineage brand.

Lineage2M is now open for pre-registration on iOS, Android and Purple Launcher platforms, ready to bring one of the most anticipated MMORPG products to the Southeast Asian market.
