
On the evening of October 9, Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital received an emergency case in critical condition. The female patient, born in 1998, in Tay Ho, Hanoi, discovered that she was 27 weeks pregnant (the patient declared herself) but she looked up information online and bought medicine to treat herself at home.
After taking the medicine, she had severe abdominal pain and went to a lower-level hospital for examination, then was urgently transferred to Hanoi Obstetrics Hospital at night, without any relatives accompanying her.
Here, Master, Specialist II Doctor Ta Viet Cuong - Deputy Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology Examination and Treatment Center, Facility 2 - on duty post 1, and the on-duty team quickly examined and discovered that the fetus was not in the uterus, the fetus was in the abdomen, there was bloody fluid in the liver and splenic flexures, and diagnosed the patient with a ruptured uterus.
Immediately, the patient underwent emergency surgery. Thanks to the urgent coordination of the surgical team led by Master, Specialist II Doctor Ta Viet Cuong and Master, Resident Doctor Dang Xuan Huynh (Anesthesiology and Resuscitation), the patient has overcome the critical stage and is currently being monitored at Department A3, with his health gradually stabilizing.
