According to statistics from the Department of Planning and Investment of Bac Ninh province, from the beginning of the year to the end of September 2024, the whole province of Bac Ninh has attracted 339 newly registered foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, an increase of 75 projects, equivalent to 28.4% over the same period. The newly registered capital reached over 1.56 billion USD, an increase of 82.2% over the same period in 2023.
Accordingly, the investors mainly come from China with 218 projects; Hong Kong (China) 37 projects; Singapore 36 projects. In addition, since the beginning of the year, Bac Ninh has adjusted capital for 147 projects (up 22.5%) with the adjusted capital increasing by more than 2.68 billion USD.
In September alone, Bac Ninh province granted new investment registrations to 9 projects with a total registered investment capital of 57.8 million USD; including a large project from Singapore investing in the real estate business with a registered capital of 44.7 million USD. To date, Bac Ninh province has 2,412 valid foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total licensed investment capital of nearly 29.3 billion USD.
In the past 9 months, Bac Ninh has attracted more than 4.2 billion USD, continuing to be the leading locality in the country in attracting FDI. With an open investment environment, modern infrastructure, a large local and immigrant labor force, Bac Ninh has been affirming its position as an attractive destination for investors. The wave of investment from major countries in Asia such as Japan and South Korea in the software and semiconductor industries has further affirmed the significant qualitative changes in attracting FDI capital to Bac Ninh.
Since the beginning of the year, the leaders of Bac Ninh province have met and worked with many FDI enterprises in the area to share and solve difficulties such as meeting with Samsung Vietnam complex, typical Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese enterprises; visiting and working with Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd., Goertek Vina Co., Ltd. At the same time, organizing receptions and working sessions with Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd., Chairman of Goertek Group, Johnson Group (Taiwan - China), CMC Technology Group, Kine SIC Semi Company (USA) to explore investment cooperation opportunities in the province.
In addition, the leaders of Bac Ninh province also received and worked with domestic and foreign delegations such as: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan to Vietnam; Delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany... to learn about and cooperate in investment. In addition, organizing delegations to promote investment and seek opportunities for development cooperation abroad./.
