On the afternoon of August 14, the leader of the Northern Khanh Hoa Protective Forest Management Board said that the forest fire occurred at Lot 1, Section 8, Sub-area 60 (Ninh Tay Commune, Ninh Hoa Town) in the unit's forest area, lasting from noon on August 11 to noon on August 12, causing 3 hectares of bamboo forest, shrubs, and vines clinging to large rocks to burn. The area where the fire occurred is planned as a large timber production forest; it belongs to the state of natural evergreen broadleaf mountain forest recovering.
The fire broke out in a mountainous area with many rocky outcrops and was difficult to reach. 25 people from the Bac Khanh Hoa Forest Protection Management Board, Ninh Hoa Forest Rangers, Ninh Tay Commune People's Committee and local people had great difficulty in approaching, localizing and controlling the fire. Currently, local authorities are continuing to investigate and verify the cause of this forest fire.
