Former General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that "Today, culture is also considered a factor that plays a decisive role in the strength and position of each nation and people".
Inheriting the spirit of the 1943 Outline on Vietnamese culture, along with documents of the Party, Government and current legal regulations, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has developed the "Strategy for developing Vietnamese cultural industries to 2030, with a vision to 2045", which affirms that "Developing Vietnamese cultural industries is the task of the entire political system, all levels, sectors and the whole society".
Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh delivered the opening speech.
Cultural industries are identified as one of the important growth drivers, contributing greatly to the country's socio-economic development, preserving and spreading the unique cultural values of the Vietnamese people. In the context of globalization, deep integration, and strong digital transformation, creative products, arts, entertainment, etc. have become symbols of national vitality, bravery and intelligence.
Vietnam, with its rich cultural potential and strong identity, has all the favorable conditions to develop cultural industries into new "key industries", contributing increasingly to the national GDP, creating more jobs, improving the spiritual life of the people, and promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people to the world.
According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, to develop cultural industries, it is necessary to have the cooperation, consensus and promotion of the whole society, in which the press plays a particularly important role. The press is a bridge to inspire and promote cultural values; a pioneering force to spread new initiatives and values while condemning negative aspects, protecting identity; a forum for criticism, policy suggestions, and promoting innovation.
In recent times, many successes have been recorded through the support of the press. In particular, many art programs, tourist seasons, and festivals have been branded through the lens of the media and press, becoming major cultural and tourism events, attracting a large domestic and international audience.
Art performance opening the Forum
Traditional art forms such as Tuong, Cheo, Cai Luong, Ca Tru, Quan Ho... or talented young artists reaching international level are thanks to the spread and promotion of media and press.
Film, pop music, and fashion products introduced by the media and press have become trends, helping to expand the consumer market, develop creativity, and integrate Vietnamese culture deeply with the world.
In addition, reality TV shows, game shows, and talk shows about culture, art, and creativity have contributed to discovering and nurturing young talents, creating a healthy and attractive playground for young people and the public.
These successes show that: "Culture is the foundation - Journalism leads knowledge, creates trust for society". The connection between the cultural industry and the press is the key to promoting creativity and promoting Vietnamese cultural values to the world.
Before the opening of the Forum, delegates cut the ribbon and visited the photo and video exhibition "Happy Vietnam".
Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh said that the forum is a key activity in a series of events celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, an opportunity for us to meet, share, listen and discuss: Opportunities and challenges for press media in promoting the development of cultural industries; Practical experiences from press media agencies, businesses, and creators in promoting cultural industries today; Proposing solutions and policies to improve the effectiveness of coordination between press, media and cultural industries in the new period.
