Exchange of outstanding ethnic minority students in 2025: Spreading the aspiration to rise up, affirming the value of Vietnamese national identity

On the evening of May 30, the 9th Exchange Program for Outstanding Ethnic Minority Students of Cultural, Sports and Tourism Schools in the Southern Region in 2025 officially took place at the Can Tho City Cultural and Arts Center (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City). The program was directed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Can Tho City; the Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism chaired and coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City to organize and implement.

The "Art Program" is one of the outstanding activities within the framework of the 4th Southern Student Exchange of Cultural, Sports and Tourism Schools in 2025.

Attending the Exchange program were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong; Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Huu Ngoc; Head of Representative Office of the Ministry in Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Huu Dat; Deputy Head of Department 3 of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Duong Minh Tuan; Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep along with representatives of leaders of agencies, departments, teachers and more than 200 ethnic minority students from Culture, Sports and Tourism schools in the Southern region.

Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong and Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People 's Committee Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep presented souvenir flags to units participating in the program.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong emotionally recalled the advice of beloved Uncle Ho when he was alive: "Cultivating the next generation of revolutionaries is a very important and necessary task" and the message he sent to the young generation: "A year begins in spring. A life begins in youth. Youth is the spring of society".

Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong emphasized that youth in general and students in particular always hold a particularly important position in every stage of the country's development, contributing greatly to the struggle for national liberation and unification in the past, as well as in the cause of innovation, protection and construction of the Fatherland today. For ethnic minority students - the flowers bearing the colors of regional culture - that role is even more precious and special.

"Ethnic minority students are the embodiment of aspirations and promises for lands with many hardships. They are the ones who bring culture, connect knowledge, and spread the values ​​of truth, goodness, beauty, dignity, and spirit of the Vietnamese people to the world," the Deputy Minister affirmed.

The 9th Exchange Program for Outstanding Ethnic Minority Students of Cultural, Sports and Tourism Schools in the Southern Region is not only a political and cultural event, but also an inspiring space, a place to meet, connect and spread the spirit of national solidarity, and spread noble humanistic values. This is a playground for students to share their dreams and aspirations, and together affirm the value of Vietnamese national identity in the new era.

Taking place over 3 days (from May 29 to 31), the program has the participation of more than 200 ethnic minority students from 12 training institutions of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the Southern region: Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts; Ho Chi Minh City University of Sports and Physical Education, Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema, Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts, Vung Tau College of Tourism, Da Lat College of Tourism, Can Tho College of Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City Dance College, Can Tho National Sports Training Center and Can Tho City High School for Gifted Sports.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ms. Ngo Hong Phuoc, Head of the Representative Office of Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund in the Southern region, awarded scholarships to outstanding students.

"Over the two days, students have experienced many exciting and attractive activity spaces. Through the activities, we can see the hidden talent, intelligence, optimism and aspiration of each student in each exchange. Tomorrow, students will return to their daily study and training, but we will always remember the days participating in the Program as sweet and unforgettable memories" - Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong shared.

Through the program, the Deputy Minister sent a message to students to continue to strive to study, practice physical fitness, ethics, life skills, international integration and always be confident that they will be more successful in the future by preserving and shining from the unique cultural identity of the nation. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and its agencies, units and training facilities will always accompany and create the best conditions for students to develop comprehensively.

At the program, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dat - Head of the representative office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City and representative of the Laborer Newspaper also awarded "Scholarships to support ethnic minority and poor students" to 20 excellent ethnic minority students.

During the art exchange night, the groups performed unique performances imbued with national culture. At the same time, the Organizing Committee summarized, evaluated, commended and rewarded the groups and individuals who made efforts, contributed and achieved high results in activities within the framework of the 9th Southern Region Cultural, Sports and Tourism School Exchange Program for Outstanding Ethnic Minority Students in 2025.

Within the framework of the program's activities, on May 30, ethnic minority students of the groups participated in many meaningful activities such as camp gate competitions, sports competitions and art performances at the Can Tho City Cultural and Art Center.

The activities in the program not only help students strengthen solidarity, but also provide them with an opportunity to understand more about the cultural identity of the community. From there, it nurtures in them a love for their homeland, enhances national pride, fosters the will to strive to contribute to building a unified Vietnam in diversity - strength - power - autonomy, proudly entering a new era.
