From city to countryside
The multi-level marketing network called “Bitney” has just been dismantled by the Phu Tho Provincial Police, with nearly 200,000 members, of which more than 100,000 are Vietnamese. This is the largest multi-level marketing network ever discovered and handled.
Once "making waves" in Nghe An under the name "Bitney Group", this network sold a series of products such as mixed fruit juice Multi Juice and deer placenta Lucenta, which were falsely advertised as cure-alls. In 2023, Nghe An Newspaper published many articles reflecting the unusual operations of this system.
In Vinh City, the location that once had a sign “Bitney General Office in Nghe An” on Phuong Hoang Street has now been demolished. Previously, this place often held crowded meetings, mostly of the elderly, with propaganda words that the product could “cure diseases” and “make you rich”. Even people claiming to be doctors and leaders of large hospitals participated to exaggerate the miraculous effects of the product.
In addition to organizing face-to-face meetings, the Bitney system also set up a series of chat groups on social networks. In which, many people who call themselves “witnesses” regularly share personal stories, claiming to have been cured of diseases, even cancer, thanks to using Bitney products.
Bitney also attracts participants by promising to return capital in Bitney Coin electronic shares. According to the advertisement, by simply joining a product package, in addition to receiving the product, members will also receive monthly electronic shares, which can be sold back to the company for Vietnamese currency. In 2023, 1 Bitney Coin will cost more than 20,000 VND and is promised to increase a hundredfold when the "group goes public".
In addition, Bitney also draws up all kinds of commissions such as direct sales commissions, group commissions, 9-generation commissions, leadership bonus commissions..., ranging from 24.5% to 39.5% of the order value. The more products you buy and the more people you invite to join, the higher the commission. A box of Multi Juice costs about 1.5 million VND, while Lucenta deer placenta costs more than 7 million VND.
To become a member, customers must purchase at least 6 boxes of Multi Juice or 1 box of Lucenta (equivalent to a 1-star member), and be given a code to access the system. Higher-level membership packages such as 2 stars, 3 stars, and 4 stars require a purchase amount of up to tens or hundreds of millions of VND, in return for which they are given the corresponding number of electronic shares.
This network does not stop in the city but also penetrates the countryside. In Thanh My commune (Thanh Chuong district), a group of people approached elderly women, initially using the excuse of taking ID photos, then switched to introducing products and enticing them to get rich. Many people were lured into joining Zalo groups such as "Bitney Nghe An billionaire 1199 global development" or "Bitney product usage results", where members continuously exaggerated the product's benefits and bragged about their wealth.
Warning from authorities and the end for the ringleader
In 2023, the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade issued a warning document about Bitney's illegal multi-level marketing activities. The document of the Department of Industry and Trade stated that recently, in some localities, groups, conferences, and seminars have appeared to introduce the products Multi Juice - mixed fruit juice and Lucenta - deer placenta of Bitney Group, which are introduced to have many uses.
In addition to the exaggerated information about the benefits, these subjects also introduce participants to invite other members, develop the system to enjoy commission benefits according to the multi-level model. Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has not issued a certificate of registration for multi-level sales activities to any enterprise or organization named Bitney mentioned above according to the provisions of Decree 40/2018/ND-CP dated March 12, 2018 of the Government on management of multi-level business activities.

The Department of Industry and Trade requests relevant departments, branches, localities and units to direct grassroots levels to strengthen propaganda to the blocks, hamlets, villages and people, absolutely not to participate in activities that show signs of multi-level marketing business without a license to minimize risks and material and legal losses. Advise people not to use and invite others to use products by "word of mouth" to treat diseases on mass media and loudspeakers in blocks and hamlets.
Recently, Phu Tho Provincial Police arrested 4 people in this network for violating regulations on multi-level marketing. The two leaders are Tat Van Hao (48 years old, Ho Chi Minh City) and Lim Choon Foong (aka Nick Lim, 43 years old, Malaysian nationality).
This network has nearly 200,000 members worldwide, of which more than 107,000 are Vietnamese. Bitney products are priced ten times higher than the import price and show signs of exaggerating their effects, even containing banned substances that affect the health of users. By the time of its destruction on May 14, 2025, Bitney Vietnam had not been granted a certificate of registration for multi-level marketing activities, but had sold millions of products and illegally earned thousands of billions of VND.
