The songs selected for performance in the album include songs that have been with us through the years such as “The sound of pestles on Bom Bo village” (musician Xuan Hong), “As if Uncle Ho were here on the great victory day” (Pham Tuyen), “The person who built Ke Go lake” (Nguyen Van Ty), “Light the fire, my dear” (Huy Du), “My car passed by on the Truong Son road” (Van Dung), “Advancing to Saigon” (Luu Huu Phuoc), “The girl who opened the road” (Xuan Giao), “Five brothers on a tank” (Doan Nho)…

The first song in this album was introduced by Vu Dieu Thao to the audience on February 17, which is "The Country is Full of Joy" by musician Hoang Ha, and on the anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday, all 54 songs will be introduced in full by her.

In addition to playing the pipa solo, Dieu Thao also collaborated with Meritorious Artist Viet Hong, a pipa group, a zither group, and the Four Gentlemen group with two young people Bao Tran and Bao Chau to make the music more colorful and the performance more diverse.

The videos of Dieu Thao playing the guitar solo are simply recorded by her phone, without any post-production sound or elaborate staging. Each song is introduced with its story, composer, or related historical memories…

Talking about the motivation for carrying out the music “campaign” with revolutionary songs, Vu Dieu Thao expressed: “I want to bring traditional instruments and folk music into revolutionary songs to create a diverse, vibrant musical picture, imbued with the Vietnamese spirit”. For Dieu Thao, music is a way for her to express her gratitude and appreciation to the generations who sacrificed for national independence.

Performing revolutionary songs with the sound of the pipa was also a challenge for Dieu Thao. The rhythm of marches is usually fast, concise, and decisive, while most Vietnamese traditional instruments are often soft, sweet, and profound. However, her works were received beyond expectations when released.

The most touching and perhaps most motivating moment for the artist was when she received a message from a veteran: “Listening to you play is wonderful. I remember the day I and my comrades entered to liberate Saigon nearly 50 years ago.” The message made her extremely emotional, and from then on, she set a goal to play music regularly, like a small gift for the audience.

Not only performing, Dieu Thao also inspires her young students. Many of her students are excited to practice revolutionary songs on the pipa, some even ask for music to practice. “I believe that if traditional music is “told” in a familiar, simple and emotional way, it will reach young people. And from there, we will preserve the traditional musical identity while still developing modernly and sustainably,” Dieu Thao affirmed.

After the album of revolutionary songs, Vu Dieu Thao will continue to perfect the system of arrangements of revolutionary songs for her major in pipa - a dedicated effort of the female lecturer at the Vietnam National Academy of Music to bring revolutionary music into the academic curriculum of traditional musical instruments. "I hope this will be my practical contribution to the development of the pipa industry, as well as to let traditional music accompany the national spirit in the future," said Vu Dieu Thao.
