The leader of Ho Chi Minh City Club said: "We are actively negotiating to bring coach Mano Polking back to the team. The terms are being discussed by both sides. We hope to close this deal soon."

Mr. Mano Polking led Ho Chi Minh City FC from the end of the 2020 season to the beginning of the 2021 season. But then, this coach with dual German and Brazilian nationality had to leave the city team, because the V-League was then postponed and stopped halfway, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

If coach Mano Polking returns to Ho Chi Minh City FC, it will not take him too much time to integrate into the V-League in general and into the city team in particular.

Speaking to Dan Tri reporter not long ago, right after the second leg of the AFF Cup 2022 final earlier this year at Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani (Thailand), coach Mano Polking expressed: "I miss Vietnam, I miss Ho Chi Minh City, this city is always in my heart".

After leaving V-League in mid-2021, coach Mano Polking was appointed head coach of the Thai national team.

Under this coach, the Thai team twice defeated the Vietnamese team of coach Park Hang Seo, to win the AFF Cup 2020 (actually taking place from the end of 2021 to the first day of 2022) and the AFF Cup 2022 (taking place from the end of 2022 to the beginning of 2023).

Mr. Mano Polking's contract with the Football Association of Thailand is until February 2024. However, after Thailand's 3-1 win over Singapore last night (November 21), the two sides suddenly announced their separation.

Coach Mano Polking himself appeared tired of the pressure from Thai public opinion, after the 1-2 defeat of the Golden Temple team against the Chinese team on November 16.
