On May 8, a clip was circulated on social media showing water flowing from the glass roof onto the floor at the T3 passenger terminal of Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

According to the clip, station staff had to use plastic buckets and cleaning supplies. Around them, passengers were still walking around, sitting and waiting to go to the departure gate.
This water leakage situation appeared when the modern station had just been inaugurated before the April 30th holiday, surprising many people.
Previously, according to the reporter's records, the floor of this station had many defects such as cracked tiles, gaps between tiles in many places without glue, broken tiles...

A representative of the T3 Terminal Construction Project Management Board at Tan Son Nhat International Airport said the leak occurred on the evening of May 7 in the passenger waiting area at the departure gate at T3 Terminal.
The cause is due to thermal shrinkage - a phenomenon in which materials change size when heated. Recently, hot weather has caused the glue in the roof to loosen, causing leaks when it rains heavily.
The T3 Terminal Construction Project Management Board is planning to repair and replace it.

Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat airport has a total investment of nearly 11,000 billion VND, was inaugurated on April 19, 2 months ahead of schedule.
The station has 1 basement and 4 floors above ground, with a total floor area of 112,500m2 .
The terminal has 90 traditional airline check-in counters, 20 automated baggage drop-off counters and 42 check-in kiosks.

In addition, the terminal has 27 boarding gates, 6 departure baggage handling islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands, and 25 passenger security control gates.
In particular, the terminal is designed with 8 security control gates and a separate area to serve VIP, business class and priority guests.
The project has a capacity of more than 20 million passengers/year, serving 7,000 passengers/peak hour, exploiting all types of aircraft code C, E, basically solving the traffic congestion at the existing Tan Son Nhat airport.
