Inauguration of Can Tho port - Cai Mep port transport route

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quang Trung, Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Shipping Lines ( VIMC ), Chairman of the Board of Directors of Can Tho Port Joint Stock Company, said that Mekong Express is an inland barge route connecting Can Tho - Cai Mep, helping to save time, costs and reduce _CO2 emissions by up to 60%, contributing specifically to the country's Net Zero strategy.

The Mekong Express route is the result of a three-way cooperation between DP World ( the world's leading port and logistics group), VIMC Lines (the service operator) and Can Tho Port. This cooperation will promote the development of a green port model and a green logistics chain for a future of sustainable development and deep integration. At the same time, it opens up opportunities to form a strategic export center in the West.
