Summer fun and useful

With the desire to create healthy and meaningful playgrounds, the Provincial Youth Entrepreneurship Support Center, in collaboration with Lam Chan Au Coffee, organized a coconut leaf weaving workshop. This was not just a simple recreational activity, but also a wonderful opportunity for children to develop their dexterity, meticulousness, and creativity. As their small hands nimbly transformed coconut leaves into grasshoppers, birds, or other whimsical toys, their concentration and imagination were significantly developed.

Joy was evident on the children's faces. Eight-year-old Dang Khoi excitedly shared: "I find weaving coconut leaves very fun. It was a little difficult at first, but with the teacher's guidance, I was able to make a very beautiful bird with my own hands. I even plan to make one at home to give to my parents!"

Ms. Thanh Tam, a teacher at Nguyen Du Primary School who directly guided the children, expressed her joy at seeing her students' enthusiasm: "This is the first time I've collaborated with the Provincial Youth Entrepreneurship Support Center to teach children how to create whimsical shapes from coconut leaves. Workshop experiences like this help children have healthy fun, develop essential skills, and stay away from phones, games, and other dangerous temptations."

This summer, the Oc Eo Cultural Heritage Management Board of the province collaborated with schools in the area to educate young people about traditions and foster a love for heritage. With the theme "Education on the Traditions of Oc Eo Cultural Heritage," this year's summer program featured many engaging and fun learning activities, running from June 10th to August 21st. Immediately after the opening ceremony, the atmosphere became lively as students from Primary Schools A and B in Oc Eo town and Vong Dong Primary School "B" enthusiastically participated in a picture-guessing game with the theme "Exploring Hindu deity worship (Visnu, Drama, Shiva, Sun God) through a magical crossword puzzle." This innovative approach helped the children access historical knowledge in a gentle and enjoyable way.

Beyond just quizzes and games, the program also allows children to explore historical and cultural values in greater depth. They learn about national treasures such as the Nandin Ring from Giong Cat and the Buddhist relief from Linh Son Bac, along with other typical relics and artifacts of the Oc Eo culture. The specific images and artifacts help them visualize more clearly a culture that once flourished in history. Furthermore, through the existing documents at the Oc Eo Cultural Relics Management Board, the children are also introduced to and guided in detail about the history of the formation and development of the Oc Eo culture.

The "Summer Fun with Oc Eo Culture" series of activities also includes many other attractive playgrounds, such as the "I Am a Tour Guide" competition, where children can confidently transform themselves into talented tour guides, introducing the historical sites; and the "Oc Eo Cultural Heritage Through My Eyes" competition, encouraging creativity and the expression of children's understanding of the heritage through works of art. These activities not only provide a healthy, safe, and enriching summer of fun, but also play an important role in educating the younger generation about the cultural values of Oc Eo...
