These dances were created and choreographed by instructors, artists, and actors in the military. Through them, the revolutionary artistic values of Vietnam and national cultural identity are promoted, while simultaneously creating innovation, transformation, and unity in the cultural and spiritual activities of the troops. From this, the image of a soldier is built, aesthetic values are enhanced, and a regular, elite, and progressively modern army is built, in line with the trends of development and artistic appreciation in the new era.

Along with other military units in the province, implementing the directives and guidelines from higher levels, at the beginning of 2024, Regiment 254 of the Provincial Military Command selected and assigned officers to be "key figures" in the arts and culture sector to participate in training according to the plan. After the training period, Regiment 254 developed a training plan and assigned officers to organize the dissemination and guidance to 100% of the officers and soldiers of the agencies and units under the regiment.

To ensure sufficient time for other tasks, Regiment 254 directed its subordinate agencies and units to organize dance training for officers and soldiers on days off and during breaks; training sessions were usually held in the early morning or late evening, lasting approximately 90 minutes per session.

In the early days of training, officers and soldiers encountered some difficulties in getting used to the movements, feeling the music, and moving in formation. To help them easily learn and practice the dances proficiently, the instructors divided them into teams and groups for practice; they meticulously instructed each movement and section many times, then synchronized the music for each part and each song. With the captivating rhythm, youthful, decisive, and easy-to-perform movements, and enthusiastic spirit, the officers and soldiers at Regiment 254 quickly mastered the prescribed dances.

Attending a dance practice session for officers and soldiers, we felt the enthusiastic and energetic atmosphere. Unlike the serious image of soldiers in everyday life or during missions, during the folk dance practice, hundreds of officers and soldiers, in a relaxed and cheerful spirit, joined in the music, performing beautiful and synchronized dances.

Each dance has its own meaning and movements. Accordingly, as the name suggests, set to the stirring music of the song "For the People, We Forget Ourselves," the "Faith" dance is performed by the soldiers with vigorous and decisive movements, expressing their faith and determination to successfully complete their assigned tasks.
Inspired by the music of the song "Liberating Dien Bien Phu" and incorporating traditional dances from ethnic groups across the country, the "Military and Civilian" dance demonstrates a high degree of connection and solidarity.
The "Marching" and "Young Soldier" dances feature youthful, energetic, and fast movements, reflecting the youthful spirit of the military youth. The " Peace " dance, on the other hand, consists of flexible, graceful, and symbolic movements based on the established theme.

Organizing dance training sessions according to regulations has helped to enhance the cultural and spiritual life of soldiers in the army, promoting healthy and beneficial activities; improving physical fitness; and fostering solidarity and camaraderie among officers and soldiers. This also awakens pride in the traditions of the Vietnam People's Army, love for the homeland, and strengthens the will and determination of the soldiers. These new dances promise to be an attractive and novel form of entertainment for the troops, and will be used for regular training and performances in unit activities and in local community outreach.
