Providing timely support to the people.
In response to prolonged heavy rains causing widespread flooding and complex flood situations, officers and soldiers of Brigade 680 (Naval Region 3) quickly arrived to assist people in deeply flooded areas to overcome difficulties.
In Ha Nha commune, Da Nang city, many areas were flooded to a depth of over 3 meters; hundreds of households suffered heavy property damage. Following the "four on-the-spot" principle, Brigade 680 deployed specialized rescue boats, special vehicles, and various types of cars. Undeterred by danger and braving the rain and floods, the unit's task forces, in coordination with local authorities, relocated dozens of households to safety, prioritizing the elderly, women, and children.

Colonel Pham Van Toan, commander of Brigade 680, who was present at the scene to lead the rescue operation, said: “Ha Nha commune is a sister unit of Brigade 680 and also one of the areas most severely affected by this historic flood. Upon receiving instructions from superiors, the Brigade immediately mobilized forces and equipment to help the people. This practical support is both a responsibility and an expression of the Navy soldiers' affection for the people in the area where our unit is affiliated.”
The rescue vehicles of Brigade 680 are constantly moving through flood-isolated areas to transport people, goods, food, drinking water, and provide medical care to the affected communities. At the same time, officers and soldiers are actively helping people move their belongings, clean up their homes, and contribute to stabilizing the situation after the floods.

To date, units under the Command of Naval Region 3 have mobilized over 200 officers and soldiers, along with 7 rescue boats and 12 vehicles of various types, to support people in flooded areas in Da Nang and Hue cities.
Ms. Tran Thu Huong, residing in Thanh Nam residential area, Hoi An ward, Da Nang city, shared: “We were completely caught off guard because the floodwaters rose very quickly. I was very worried because my family includes elderly people and children. Fortunately, thanks to the help of the Navy, my family received essential supplies and was evacuated to a safe location.”
A shockwave against "pirates"
The soldiers of the 3rd Naval Region have been regularly present in heavily flooded areas such as Phong Dien Ward (Hue City); and the communes and wards of Ha Nha, Hoa Tien, Hoi An, and Dien Ban (Da Nang City). Using specialized motorboats, the officers and soldiers both approached and evacuated people from dangerous areas, while also transporting food, water, and essential supplies to isolated areas to support the people.

To date, officers and soldiers of the 3rd Naval Region have provided flood victims with 1,030 kg of dried food; 150 boxes of instant noodles; 80 kg of meat and canned meat; 100 kg of rice; 80 kg of green vegetables; 150 life jackets; dozens of sets of clothes and towels; and over 32 million VND in cash.
Images of hundreds of officers and soldiers from the 3rd Naval Region wading through floodwaters overnight, assisting in relocating people to safety, and providing food and assistance in rebuilding homes for local residents, have left a positive impression on the people in the flooded areas.

Upholding the spirit of "helping the people as if they were our own family," officers and soldiers of the 3rd Naval Region Command proactively and enthusiastically assisted the people in responding to the historic floods. Through this, the officers and soldiers clearly affirmed their leading role in disaster prevention and control, search and rescue operations, while also spreading the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers - the soldiers of the Vietnam People's Navy," contributing to strengthening the solidarity between the military and the people in the new era.
