Moc Chau has long been famous for its poetic and immense flower gardens such as apricot, plum, canola, peach or fruit gardens full of fruits such as strawberries, oranges, and plums. But recently, tourists have found a new check-in address, the ancient cactus flower garden in Mia Duong residential group, Co Do ward, considered a "one of a kind" garden in Moc Chau.

The cacti here are taller than a person, some up to 4m, with large roots and trunks, dense thorns, lush green leaves, and bright yellow flowers blooming in unison. The flowers usually bloom in the morning and gradually close in the afternoon. The flower garden becomes the setting for a unique photo series.

Cactus symbolizes strength, resilience, and indomitability even in the driest places. Ms. Nguyen Nha Trang ( Hanoi ) and her friends visited the cactus garden at the end of April.

"I once saw cactus flowers in Arizona, USA - a place famous for its deserts and the symbolic flower is cactus.

But in Vietnam, traveling around the country, this is the first time I have seen a large cactus garden, big trees, blooming densely, all at the same time like that. The scenery is very beautiful and unique. Moc Chau now has many new farms such as lavender, ivy and cactus gardens, creating a new feeling, making tourists want to come back many times," said Ms. Trang.

According to Mr. Hoang Huu Dai, the garden owner, the cactus growing area is 1,000 square meters wide with about 300 native bunny ear cacti, grown in many Northwestern provinces. The plants are at least 10 years old, some are 100 years old.

"This cactus is usually planted as a hedge because it is tall and has many sharp thorns. I happened to see the plant blooming beautifully, so I bought it to plant and care for. Cactus is a type of plant that can withstand drought and heat very well, so it doesn't require much care. However, to make the plant bloom in unison and brightly requires technique. I failed many times and it took me more than 3 years to have the garden like it is now," said Mr. Dai.

Thu Hoa, a young person who creates content about Moc Chau tourism , said that this garden is only 700m from the famous heart-shaped tea hill, and the road is very convenient.

"The flowers bloom beautifully, strangely, with many buds. The garden space is quiet and peaceful, with tea hills in the distance, creating a poetic scene, perfect for taking beautiful photos," Hoa shared.

According to Hoa, the ideal time to check in at the cactus garden is 8-9am when the flowers are blooming in the sun, the sky is cool, and the clouds are blue. Or, visitors can come at 4pm, when the sun starts to soften, and the romantic sunset shines down on the garden.

According to the garden owner, the flowers will bloom from late April to late August, but are most abundant in early summer. Currently, the entrance fee to the garden is 40,000 VND/person.

Tourists coming to Moc Chau in early summer can combine visiting famous waterfalls such as Chieng Khoa waterfall, Nang Tien waterfall, Dai Yem waterfall.
