Hoa Tri Commune: Prolonged heavy rain, many areas deeply flooded, traffic cut off

By the afternoon of November 19, heavy rain combined with water released from Da Ban Lake in Hoa Tri commune caused many areas to be deeply flooded, cutting off traffic at many points. Water levels in rivers and streams rose rapidly; Song Lot bridge was flooded about 0.5m and ropes were put up to prohibit people and vehicles from passing. In Tan Tu village, floodwaters had overflowed bridge No. 3, the entire bridge surface was submerged in water, and many large cracks appeared at both ends of the bridge abutments, posing a potential safety risk.

During the day, the shock force promptly evacuated a number of households in Nhi Su village, Thach Dinh and low-lying areas to safety. Some villages such as Dai Tap, Chap Le, My Hoan, Tan Phong, Dai My are still flooded, making it impossible to travel through some areas. In Quang Cu area alone, some houses were flooded due to low ground.

Hoa Tri commune has activated all response forces; organized continuous propaganda through loudspeakers and villages; arranged forces to be on duty at spillways, bridges, and low-lying areas; cleared trees and trash at Van Dinh bridge to ensure drainage. The commune People's Committee also assigned cadres to go to the responsible area, coordinate with villages to check each vulnerable point, prepare rescue vehicles and support people's evacuation at any time. Military and police forces are on duty 24/7 to promptly handle emergency situations.
