At the program, delegates reviewed the history of World Population Day; were provided with important information on world and domestic population issues; assessed population and development work in the locality. Thereby, raising awareness, mobilizing the synchronous, active and responsible participation of sectors, units and people of all walks of life in implementing population policies, contributing to improving the quality of life of each person, each family and the whole society.
At the program, Vice Chairman of Nam Phu Commune People's Committee Nguyen Van Sung affirmed that World Population Day is an annual event, aiming to raise awareness of global population issues; it is also an occasion for humanity to be proud of achievements in the fields of population, health care, gender equality, improving population quality and people's life expectancy.
Nam Phu commune sets out urgent requirements: Rapid but sustainable development, taking people as the center, improving population quality, training human resources to lay the foundation for the transition to an ecological, modern, and humane urban model.
Today's population work is to sow the future, to ensure effective implementation of population and development work in the commune, in the coming time, the commune will strengthen the comprehensive leadership and direction of all levels of government, promote the strength of the entire political system in implementing population policies in the new situation; promote communication, raise public awareness of gender equality, encourage having 2 children, getting married and giving birth at the right age; ensure access for all people, protect the reproductive rights of each person, and end gender selection of fetuses.
The commune maximizes the golden population structure through education and training of high-quality human resources; encourages young people to start businesses and develop digital skills; creates a green, cultural and safe living environment; modernizes the population management system, promotes digital transformation to serve planning and people's livelihood; takes better care of the elderly, children, women and the disadvantaged, demonstrating humanistic identity, ethical traditions and fair policies.
Within the framework of the ceremony, Nam Phu commune organized a parade and cheering procession on the roads with a length of more than 7km to spread meaningful messages about population work and development in the new situation.
