In the atmosphere of celebrating the New Year, under the guidance of Artisan Bui Tien Xo, members of the Muong gong club in Thao Ca hamlet, with all genders, young and old, gathered to rehearse the gong piece "Going on the Road". Mr. Bui Thanh Doan, Head of Thao Ca hamlet said: It has become a beautiful tradition at the beginning of Spring, on Tet holiday, the club members go to wish a happy new year to every house and every person in the hamlet. The group will visit prestigious people, people with revolutionary contributions, and families with meritorious services. The gong piece "Going on the Road" resonates in place of best wishes to families with the message of praying for a peaceful, happy, and healthy new year.
Not only in Thao Ca hamlet but also in Thao Con, Dong Ngoai, Dam Rung, Vo Coi hamlets, gong teams were established and maintained, creating a vibrant cultural and artistic movement throughout the upper and lower villages. In addition to Meritorious Artist Bui Tien Xo, choreographer Tran Tien Hung in Dong Ngoai hamlet also devoted much effort to the cultural and artistic movement, contributing to the preservation and promotion of local cultural identity.
Comrade Bui Van Nam, Vice Chairman of Vinh Tien Commune People's Committee, said: The commune has 3 ethnic groups living together, of which the Muong ethnic group is the majority. In recent years, along with socio -economic development, the material and spiritual life of the people has gradually improved. Through movements and campaigns, cultural identities have been preserved by the people, notably the Muong gong cultural heritage. Currently, the Muong gong club of Thao Ca hamlet and some hamlet art troupes have purchased gong sets for practice, performing arts and use in festivals. Meritorious Artisan Bui Tien Xo in hamlet 168 owns a "treasure trove" of 55 precious gongs.
A prominent activity is the Muong gong club in Thao Ca hamlet with many active members in preserving Muong gong culture such as Ms. Bach Thi Tham, Ms. Bui Thi Quyen, Mr. Dinh Ba Phong... The club also attracts many teenagers to practice and perform, such as Bui Kim Hue, Bui Thanh Vinh, Bui Thi Huyen... In 2023, the club was elected as a representative to participate in performing Muong gongs within the framework of the Muong ethnic group's Opening Festival held in Tan Lac district. The club also participates in many competitions and performances at the district and provincial levels. Recently, the club participated and won a high prize at the 2023 District Ethnic Minority Folk Arts Festival.
