Both Portugal and Austria excelled against formidable opponents Brazil and Italy in the two semi-finals of the 2025 U17 World Cup early this morning, November 25.
In the first semi-final, Austria U17 made history by defeating Italy U17 2-0. The hero of the match was attacking midfielder Johannes Moser.
After a stalemate in the first half, Moser shone brightly in the second half. In the 57th minute, after a good combination with Jakob Werner, Moser scored a cross-angle shot to open the score.
In the 90+3 minute, Moser completed his double with a superb free kick, bringing his total number of goals in the tournament to 8.
This victory helped Austria reach the final of a FIFA tournament for the first time in history.

The second semi-final between Portugal and Brazil was more tense and no goals were scored after 90 minutes of official play, despite both teams creating dangerous chances. The two teams were forced to enter a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.
The drama happened in the 5th shot when Portugal goalkeeper Romario Cunha missed, giving Brazil the chance to win.
However, Brazil's Ruan Pablo hit the post. In the deciding penalty shootout that followed, Jose Neto scored for Portugal, while Brazil's Angelo shot over the bar.
In the end, Portugal won 6-5 on penalties, thereby qualifying for the U17 World Cup final for the first time.
According to the schedule, the final match between Austria and Portugal will take place on November 27. Before that, Brazil and Italy will meet in the third-place match.
