Retailers want to learn more about digital transformation and tax transformation policies.

Interactive program "Upgrade - Upgrade" took place at the Binh Hung Hoa Inter-ward Cultural and Sports Center, bustling with the participation of more than 200 business households and enterprises. Many experts, representatives of relevant departments in the city... were also present, ready to support and advise small traders on new policies.

The program is part of a series of activities of the project "Together with business households to become digital enterprises" 2025, organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper in coordination with many agencies and units.

Speaking at the interactive program "Upgrade - Upgrade" held at the People's Committee of Binh Hung Hoa Ward - Mr. Tran Xuan Toan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, said that Binh Hung Hoa Ward is a ward with a very large population and area, people from many places come here to live and do business, including many business households.

Mr. Toan said that the program "Together with business households to become digital enterprises" is a long-term program, stemming from the great policy of the Party and the State to encourage the development of the private economy , towards tax declaration and implementation of transparent e-invoice policy. This is also a great policy of the Party in the context of the country's integration.

At the program, Tuoi Tre newspaper also invited a representative of Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department to answer people's questions related to the procedure for abolishing lump-sum tax as well as related to e-commerce and online sales.

In addition, there will also be a representative of Vietnam International Bank (VIB ) to share projects and solutions to support business households and small and medium enterprises to access loans. A representative of Binh Hung Hoa ward will also share about accompanying business households in the process of converting from contract households to declared households.

Mr. Pham Hoai Khanh - Vice Chairman of Binh Hung Hoa Ward People's Committee - said that organizing training sessions helps people, especially business households, to promptly access knowledge about digital transformation and new regulations related to tax declaration and fulfillment.

Mr. Khanh emphasized that the policy of digital transformation in tax management is part of the effort to improve the efficiency of state management at the grassroots level, towards modernizing the economy.

He also cited Resolution 27 as an important foundation to promote innovation and sustainable growth in the coming period. For the transformation process in the tax sector to be effective, according to Mr. Khanh, there needs to be synchronous participation of the entire system from the grassroots level up.

"Without coordination between the government, businesses and people, reform policies will be difficult to put into practice," a representative of Binh Hung Hoa ward shared and pledged to accompany people and businesses, ready to support and remove difficulties in the process of implementing new regulations.

Close coordination between relevant departments, branches and agencies, according to him, will contribute to creating a more favorable business environment, supporting local socio-economic development.

Mr. Khanh also expressed his appreciation to Tuoi Tre newspaper for proactively proposing and coordinating the organization of the guidance program, helping people fully grasp the new policies. "Correct, sufficient and accessible communication will support the community, especially small businesses, to be more proactive in participating in the digital transformation process and complying with the new tax policy," he said.

Take a day off to learn about new tax policy

Present early and expressing interest in payment technologies at the program, Ms. Giang Huu Binh (Binh Hung Hoa ward) said that she decided to stop selling today to participate in the program. She herself is not really familiar with the new procedures related to conversion and tax declaration, many new things are also difficult to understand.

"The declaration techniques and processing operations on the new platform... make me worried, especially when my business is very small in scale, has low revenue, and does not have human resources to monitor regularly. I hope to receive clear and specific instructions from the professional agency, helping me understand and implement correctly, avoiding risks during the conversion process," said trader Binh.

Meanwhile, Mr. Le Hoang Dong (business owner) said he learned about the program quite by chance. When he went to the tax office to ask about the preparation procedures for the new regulations that will take effect from June 1, he was introduced and invited to attend the workshop by an officer.

"Before that, I only heard information scattered on newspapers and radio, and did not have access to full instructions, so the workshop was an opportunity for me to better understand the implementation steps. Now I come to the program with the goal of learning about the digital transformation mechanism in tax management, especially the operations on the declaration application, which I think is quite vague if I just figure it out myself," Mr. Dong hopes.

According to many businesses, the most important issue at the moment is "getting specific and detailed instructions on how to declare on the application, the processing procedure, as well as the corresponding tax rates.

In the program, experts from Ho Chi Minh City Tax shared about tax policies to support business households in converting from lump-sum tax to declaration. Along with that, experts in technology, software, and finance brought effective technology solutions, multi-channel sales; comprehensive digital solutions to help business households manage cash flow, improve business efficiency and easily comply with new legal regulations.

Interspersed with the sharing and imparting of practical knowledge about taxes and digital business transformation are minigames to review the knowledge just taught by experts. Through this, business households and small traders have the opportunity to receive gifts from the organizers and accompanying units.

"Upgrade - Upgrade" is an educational training program designed in the form of an interactive game, combining knowledge, entertainment and education, supporting businesses to access technology and digital transformation easily and effectively.

In case of converting from a business household to an enterprise, it can become an independent legal entity, enjoy preferential tax policies as well as easily expand scale, recruit, deduct input VAT, corporate income tax calculated on taxable income, and separate personal assets and business assets.

The goal of Ho Chi Minh City Tax is to ensure that business households apply the self-declaration and self-payment method from January 1, 2026. Ensure that 100% of business households have access to information and receive support from tax authorities on the conversion content.

Ensure that 100% of subjects are eligible to apply electronic invoices generated from cash registers, 100% of business households carry out tax procedures electronically in a convenient and easy manner. Timely handle and resolve 100% of business households' problems within 24 hours.

At the same time, the tax authority will develop and perfect the technical infrastructure, data system and electronic management tools, synchronous connection between the tax authority and taxpayers to ensure that taxpayers can carry out "1-touch" tax registration, declaration and payment procedures.

"The tax authority will continue to implement direct and online support programs and coordinate with local authorities to organize mobile support points at traditional markets, commercial streets... to support business households in converting from lump-sum tax to declaration - following the motto of "holding hands and showing business households how to do it", Ms. Mai informed at the program.

The project "Together with business households to become digital enterprises" 2025, organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper, Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Department of Taxation ( Ministry of Finance ), Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with localities, with the support of Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank - VIB.
