In July 2025, floods severely affected the mountainous districts of Nghe An, Son La, and Dien Bien provinces. Not only did they cause damage to houses and property, but books and school supplies for students were also buried in mud. As the new school year approaches, the children seem to be left with nothing.
Along with that, in many remote areas, students are still facing a shortage of school facilities, especially a serious shortage of libraries and learning materials such as reference books and musical instruments. This directly affects the development of language, thinking, as well as the ability to access social knowledge of students.
In this situation, Vietnam Television officially launched the Joy Library charity project, building friendly libraries for children in flood-hit areas and disadvantaged mountainous areas across the country. This is also an activity accompanying the music events V Concert and V Fest to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2 and the 55th anniversary of Vietnam Television September 7.
Not only providing books, the Joyful Library project also aims to build open, lively reading spaces with high educational experiences. Each library will be equipped with musical instruments suitable for each grade level, thereby encouraging children to become familiar with and develop their musical talent.
The "Joyful Library" project aims to build 100 friendly libraries for children in flood-hit and disadvantaged mountainous areas.
Through the Tam Long Viet Fund (VTV), the project aims to equip 100 libraries in schools affected by flash floods, primary and secondary schools in disadvantaged provinces nationwide. Each library will receive funding from 30-70 million VND.
" The Joy Library is not only a volunteer activity associated with the country's major anniversary event, but also a long-term commitment of VTV in accompanying the cause of developing education in mountainous areas. With the cooperation of artists, fan communities, social organizations and the whole society, the project aims at a common goal: Spreading knowledge, inspiring passion for learning and building a sustainable educational environment for thousands of children living in places with many deprivations", said a representative of Vietnam Television.
As of August 6, 2025, the total amount of money donated by the audience to the Joy Library project is more than 3.15 billion VND and more than 20,000 books. The project hopes that in the upcoming 2 nights of V Concert and V Fest, it will continue to receive the love of the audience for the Joy Library .
