The book by author Vu Trung Kien - lecturer at the Regional Political Academy II, who has many years of research in the field of politics and Party Building, titled: "Party Building from Practical Issues" is truly a valuable document.
The book by author Vu Trung Kien is structured into 3 parts. Part 1 explores the content of Party Building from Ho Chi Minh's thought. Part 2 is a collection of the author's articles to shed light on practical issues. Many lessons are pointed out such as people are the root - a lesson for all generations; solidarity within the Party is the key to success; national harmony; do not take advantage of prestige within the Party. Part 3 is the author's own reflection when studying Party building from the perspective of organizational apparatus and people.
The people are the root, "humanity is based on the people's peace", that is the red thread running through the book. Learning about the most brilliant ideology of the people in history under the Later Le Dynasty with the ideas that were ahead of their time of Nguyen Trai; author Vu Trung Kien pointed out that: in Nguyen Trai's ideology of the people, the philosophy of the People is always closely linked with humanity. To Ho Chi Minh, the People in his ideology are the true subject that creates history, the driving force of the revolution and the source of strength that determines all victories of the revolution.
In Ho Chi Minh's thought, the people are also the objects of service of the revolution. The revolution must bring benefits to the people: human rights and civil rights, the right to eat well, to wear warm clothes, to study, and to enjoy happiness.
With that point of view, the author affirms: Vietnam is a nation with a rich and deep culture, a nation with hundreds of millions of people in the country and more than 6 million people abroad. If we practice great national unity, our Vietnam will certainly become a powerful and prosperous nation.
As a teacher researching the field of politics, and also a journalist who has worked for many prestigious newspapers and specialized magazines for many years, author Vu Trung Kien is especially interested in propaganda work. Recalling Uncle Ho's advice to propaganda officers, he said that they must have "a gentle attitude, be respectful to the elderly, be modest to brothers, be serious to women, be affectionate to children, and be sincere to everyone". Perhaps this is also the necessary lifestyle and working style of propaganda officers today.
The author's 40 speeches and articles published in the book have repeatedly stated: "The measure of the people's trust in the Party is whether the Party issues and implements correct policies and strategies that are in line with the people's trust, meet the practical interests of the people, and the capacity, responsibility, and exemplary behavior of each Party member." It is true that if the Party leads well and brings happiness to the people, the people will trust and honor the Party, and the Party's prestige will be enhanced, and vice versa. The people today and tomorrow continue to look to the Party, placing great and heavy responsibilities on the Party's shoulders. Party reform and rectification must be carried out in many aspects, but first and foremost, it must be carried out by each cadre and Party member.
The people and history are always fair. The people's assessments and comments on the Party always contain great expectations and trust - when the journey ahead is still full of hardships. The aspiration for a strong Vietnamese nation, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world's powers always requires the Party to constantly innovate and rectify itself to continue to act, worthy of the mission that history and the nation have given to the Party.
Studying the issue of solidarity within the Party is considered the key to success; the author believes that: Our Party determines solidarity and unity as an organizational and operational principle of the Party, the life of the Party, and the survival of the revolution.
In the article: “Comrade Truong Chinh and the work of Party building”, author Vu Trung Kien recalled the turning point. That is, in his position as Chairman of the State Council and since July 1986, as General Secretary of the Party, Comrade Truong Chinh bravely faced many criticisms from many sides to resolutely propose the path of national renewal. After nearly 40 years of national renewal, reality always tells us to continue the renewal process. More than ever, the country needs Truong Chinh’s style, Truong Chinh’s thinking and Truong Chinh’s courage to complete this noble task. The viewpoint of looking straight at the truth, correctly assessing the truth, and clearly stating the truth always has profound topical significance, especially in this time and circumstance.
As Lenin said: No matter how strong a vanguard party is, it only has influence among fifty or thirty thousand people; the greatest strength is the strength of the people. The eternal lesson is that the people are the root. For the ruling party, one of the greatest and most frightening dangers is to cut off ties with the masses. Therefore, Party building cannot be different from each cadre and party member; Party building must be closely linked with the people, ensuring the highest goal, the greatest aspiration of "rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization". This reality is also the will of the Party and the people, and the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam is increasingly more prestigious, great, trusted and wholeheartedly supported by the people.
