Building a breakthrough resolution on healthcare development, moving towards free hospitalisation

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 32nd International Medical and Pharmaceutical Exhibition held in Hanoi on May 8, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong said that the health sector identifies technological innovation and digital transformation as key driving forces.

The Ministry of Health is actively transforming the healthcare sector, coordinating with relevant ministries and sectors to develop and implement synchronous policies to encourage businesses to invest in research, development and application of digital technology, artificial intelligence, and big data in healthcare.

At the same time, create favorable conditions for creative start-up activities, form strategic digital technology enterprises, develop advanced digital health products and services, contributing to improving the efficiency of industry management and service quality for people.

According to the Deputy Minister, the revised Law on Pharmacy and the revised Law on Medical Examination and Treatment are important premises for the Vietnamese healthcare sector to develop and integrate deeply with the region and the world, aiming to build a modern, smart healthcare system that best serves people's health.

The Ministry of Health is being tasked with developing a breakthrough resolution on public health care, meeting the requirements of national development in the new era. It proposes many solutions focusing on medical development and public health care, aiming at the goal of free hospitalisation for all people.

The exhibition took place in Hanoi from May 8 to 11 with 450 booths and the participation of 300 participating units, including leading organizations, corporations and enterprises from Vietnam and 30 countries and territories.

Deputy Minister Huong assessed that the exhibition is not only a place to gather and introduce achievements and advanced medical products, but also an important bridge to promote cooperation between businesses, medical experts, scientists and consumers domestically and internationally.
